    Food allergy in children

    Food allergy is being increasingly recognised with the highest prevalence being in preschool children. Pathogenesis varies so diagnosis rests on careful history and clinical examination, appropriate use of skin prick and serum-specific IgE testing, food challenge, and supervised elimination diets. A double blind placebo controlled food challenge is the gold standard diagnostic test. Avoidance of the allergenic food is the key towards successful management. IgE mediated food allergy may present as a potentially fatal anaphylactic reaction, and management consists of the appropriate use of adrenaline (epinephrine) and supportive measures. Sensitisation remains a key target for intervention. Disease modifying agents are currently under trial for managing difficult allergies. Management requires a multidisciplinary approach and follow up. <br/

    The activity of drawing has characterized the human being since pre-historic times. The ‘language’ of drawing was utilized long before writing was there. It is an expression of human’s unique creativity and an example of human’s near-exclusive usage of tools. In this paper, the broad definition and relevance of drawing will be addressed first. Subsequently, the position of the professional and educational field of design drawing takes will be discussed, and its specific functions within the context of product design. The overall goal of this paper is to summarize the various uses of drawing as a ‘design language’, discuss the educational value and present a preliminary learning model, which describes the sequential and additional steps that need to be taken into account when teaching students how to draw. The variety of functions of the drawing medium are integrated in the so-called design drawing curriculum of the Industrial Design Engineering program at the Delft University of Technology, which will be elaborated on. Subsequently, as an exemplifying and representative approach for suggesting an object’s volume - one of the most important goals of design drawing – a specific method and technique will be described and shown.Human Information Communication Desig

    A hadron radiation installation adapted to subject a target to irradiation by a hadron radiation beam, said installation comprising: - a target support configured to support, preferably immobilize, a target: - a hadron radiation apparatus adapted to emit a hadron radiation beam along a beam axis to irradiate the target supported by the target support, said radiation beam penetrating into the target. The radiation apparatus has a control system at least comprising a beam penetration depth control allowing at least to control and vary the penetration depth of the radiation beam into the target.     Nowadays there are a lot of innovative activities going on in the youth care sector. One of the innovations is using digital client records instead of paper client records and in the future online access to digital records for clients. Before an organisation can make client records accessible through the internet, they have to professionalize and organize the digital client records and their own organisation. Thus when introducing a new working method in an organisation, organisations have to deal with organisational and technical changes. This thesis describes a roadmap which describes the process for transiting from paper to digital records in a youth care organisation where the organisational and technical issues will be taken into account. The DEMO methodology is used to model the organisation undergoing the change. The organisational model produced using this methodology, gives the management a good overview of how the care taking process takes place at the moment and can be used to improve this process if necessary. This model also helps to identify the roles and responsibilities of the actors involved in the organisation.
