The Bally Atlantic City
Ballys decided to add a new modern tower in 1989, a sleek glass tower clad in light-pink glass more than doubling the hotel footprint of the property.

bally carter
bally carter...a solid wall of stranded boulders at some little distance from the shore, forced into position by the sea ice, and called by the settlers and schoonermen, "bally carters," a corruption, evidently, of barricadoes.
Effects of the percentage of terminal flowering on postharvest fruit quality in mango (Mangifera indica) 'Calypso'™
The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between the percentage of flowering terminals, crop load and postharvest fruit quality in the mango cultivar 'Calypso'™ (B74) grown at Dimbulah in North Queensland. The percentage of flowering terminals was manipulated experimentally by removing flowers at anthesis to give eight treatments in which trees had 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 70 or 80% of their terminals with flowers. Fruit were sampled at harvest, ripened at 23°C and, at eating ripe, were assessed for fruit number and yields per tree and fruit quality parameters including: fruit size (length, width and depth), fruit weight, background skin colour, blush colour, flesh colour, total soluble solids (TSS), dry matter and internal physiological disorders (jelly-seed, soft nose). The 5% crop load treatment (removing 95% of inflorescences from terminals) significantly reduced the average fruit yield per tree. Average fruit weights were highest in trees with 5 and 10% of terminals flowering, followed by trees with 20% of terminals flowering. There was no difference in average fruit weight between trees with 30, 40, 60, 70 or 80% of terminals flowering. Average fruit length increased significantly in trees with 5, 10 and 20% of terminals flowering compared with those with larger numbers of flowering terminals, with the longest in the 5% treatment. Fruit length was similar in treatments with 30% or more terminals flowering. Similar trends were observed for fruit width, with the widest (89.35 mm) and deepest (80.53 mm) fruit found in the 5% treatment. Although the comparative results between treatments confirmed that the highest values of fruit TSS, dry matter and percentage of blush colour occurred in fruit from trees with only 5% of terminals flowering, observations did not differ significantly among treatments
Antibacterial, Antifungal and Antiviral Activities of Euphorbia Greenwayi var. Greenwayi Bally & S. Carter
The interest in many traditional natural products is increasing. Natural products continue producing bioactive agents owing to the remarkable available chemical diversity. They were evaluated as prospective therapeutic candidates for the treatment of human and animal infectious diseases. Euphorbiaceae, the spurge family, holds a significant place in the domain of plant families, with scientific evidence of antiviral, antibacterial, anticancer, cytotoxic and antitumor properties. In this regard, the current study intends to investigate the antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and cytotoxic properties of Euphorbia greenwayi var. greenwayi Bally & S. Carter. The dried aerial parts of E. greenwayi var. greenwayi Bally & S. Carter were used, then extracted with 70% ethanol, solvent was distilled off till dryness. The antimicrobial activity of the extract and both MIC and MBC were evaluated against one strain of Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus ATCC9144; four strains of Gram-negative bacteria: Klebsiella pneumonia ATCC10031, Escherichia coli ATCC10536, Salmonella typhi ATCC14028, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC9027and yeast: Candida albicans ATCC10231. The antiviral activity of hydroalcoholic extract against Rotavirus infection was determined as well as the cytotoxic properties. The antibacterial examination revealed potential activity of the hydroalcoholic extract against all tested species with the inhibition zone ranged from 14.7 to 29.7 mm. The highest activity was against S. aureus and C. albicans. MIC and MBC results proved that the extract is potentially bacteriostatic and bactericidal agents against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and against the tested yeast. Also, the extract has the ability to prevent Rotavirus attachment with the cell host. This research revealed that the hydroalcoholic extract of aerial parts of E. greenwayi var. greenwayi Bally & S. Carter has significant antimicrobial potential that can be implemented in different pharmaceutical formulations
bally-cater
ballicatterAn expression describing ice around the shoreline. Usually it refers to ice around the wharfs, stages and 'ballast beds' . The 'bally - carter' remains around the shoreline after the barbour of cove is ice free in the spring. I also heard it used to described 'ice - up' rocks on headlands where hunters went to shoot sea birds. Often I heard the phrase used by older people to warn young men when they went (reverse of card) duck hunting in the winter and spring. 'Be careful and don't go too near the shore boy and step on the bally - carter'. Incidentally, the ice referred to is not ice that came from the ocean and was washed up on the shore. It is ice that has built up from snow falling and melting during the spring and being washed by the sea water. At the correct temperature sea water washing upon the coastline can breate very slippery 'bally-carter'.YesDICT CEN. Pricing and hedging American options by Monte Carlo methods using a Malliavin calculus approach
Following the pioneering papers of Fournié, Lasry, Lebouchoux, Lions and Touzi, an important work concerning the applications of the Malliavin calculus in numerical methods for mathematical finance has come after. One is concerned with two problems: computation of a large number of conditional expectations on one hand and computation of Greeks (sensitivities) on the other hand. A significant test of the power of this approach is given by its application to pricing and hedging American options. The paper gives a global and simplified presentation of this topic including the reduction of variance techniques based on localization and control variables. A special interest is given to practical implementation, number of numerical tests are presented and their performances are carefully discussed
