Lectotype ♀ (here designated, Fig. 1 G): Malay Peninsular, “Penang Island, Baker ” (NMNH). In addition to Baker’s determination label the specimen bears a label with the words “ Holotype probably” in unknown hand. Distribution. Malaysia: Malay Peninsular (Penang Island). Remarks. This species was originally described from an unknown number of females from ‘ Straits Settlements, Penang Island (Baker)’. DISTRIBUTION: Moist forests of S Tamaulipas and adjacent San Luis Potosi, Mexico. COMMENTS: Revised by Huckaby (1980) as part of the mexicanus species group ( sensu Hooper, 1968b). Departs from conservative karyotypic pattern exhibited by species of the mexicanus group (Robbins and Baker, 1981; Smith et al., 1986); provisionally assigned to the furvus species group by Carleton (1989).Published as part of Guy G.
