SUPPLEMENTARY DESCRIPTION OF INDORIBATES (HAPLOZETES) MINUTUS (TSENG, 1984) AND MULIERCULA FEMOROSERRATA (PÉREZ-ÍÑIGO ET BAGGIO, 1980) COMB. N. (ACARI, ORIBATIDA, ORIPODOIDEA)

Two oripodoid oribatid mites, Indoribates (Haplozetes) minutus (Tseng, 1984) and Muliercula femoroserrata (Pérez-Íñigo et Baggio, 1980) comb. n., are redescribed on the basis of specimens from Brazil. Indoribates (H.) minutus is recorded for the first time in the Neotropical region. The recombination of two scheloribatid species, Scheloribates femoroserratus Pérez-Íñigo et Baggio, 1980 and S. orixaensis Badejo, Woas et Beck, 2002, as Muliercula femoroserrata (Pérez-Íñigo et Baggio) comb. n. and M. orixaensis (Badejo, Woas et Beck) comb.n., is proposed. An identification key to known species of the genus Muliercula is given

Green Phosphorescent Zn(II) Halide Complexes with N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-P-indol-1-ylphosphonic diamide as Ligand

Tetrahedral Zn(II) complexes having general formula [ZnX2{O=P(NMe2)2Ind}2] (X=Cl, Br, I, NCS) were isolated from the reaction between the indol-1-yl substituted phosphoramide N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-P-indol-1-ylphosphonic diamide O=P(NMe2)2Ind and anhydrous Zn(II) precursors under mild conditions. The structures of the three halide derivatives were ascertained by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The bromo- and iodo-derivatives revealed to be appreciably luminescent in the green region upon excitation with light below 300 nm, with emission bands centred between 520 and 530 nm. The large Stokes shifts and the excited state lifetimes in the milliseconds range indicated that triplet excited states are involved in the emission. TD-DFT calculations indicated that the luminescence is related to a ligand-centred transition with the involvement of triplet states

Collaboration in the events literature: a co-authorship network study

    No full text
This paper examines characteristics of the co-authorship network derived from an examination of the events literature found in major academic journals and databases. This network exhibits a low density with few clusters of interlinked authors. These clusters are primarily based around particular universities and examination of their location suggests the importance of geography in forming co-authorship linkages. A number of other properties of the events literature are noted

Network science and socio-economic systems: A review focused on a tourism destination

    No full text
The study of network representations of physical, biological, and social phenomena has developed rapidly in recent years. This paper presents a review of important results and methods of the science of networks with an application to the field of socio-economic systems. The basic definitions and computational techniques are described and the effects of a network’s topology on its dynamic properties are examined and illustrated using a tourism destination as a case study (Elba, Italy). A static structural characterization of the network formed by destination stakeholders is followed by a dynamic analysis of the information diffusion process. The outcomes and the implications of this analysis for improving destination management are discussed

Destination Networks - Theory and practice in four Australian cases

    No full text
Tourism involves a network of organizations interacting to produce a service. This paper examines the structural properties of interorganizational networks within destinations. Network analysis adopts a whole of destination approach and does not impose predefined groupings on the organization of tourism in a region. Information flows between key agencies provide the basis for analyzing structures and linkages, allowing strategic weaknesses in the cohesiveness of the destination to be addressed by policy and management. The paper outlines four Australian case studies that demonstrate the utility of network analysis by illustrating features such as product clusters, structural divides, and central organizations

Network position and perceptions of destination stakeholder importance

This paper examines the organization and governance of the inter-organizational networks of key tourism organizations within the Gold Coast, Australia and how the position of individual stakeholders in a destination network is related to their perceived salience. In this study 22 key organizations identified using a reputation method were interviewed and asked about the skills and power of the 21 other organizations. Based on this data three analyses were conducted. Firstly, an analysis identified the order of the perceived salience of the organizations studied. Secondly, a k-core clustering analysis identified the organizational network as having a core-periphery structure. Thirdly, the network salience of each stakeholders was correlated with their perceived salience resulting in a correlation coefficient of 0.51. Together these analyses indicate that the key stakeholders on the Gold Coast are located in the core of the network and form an elite that is seen as more salient while peripheral stakeholders are seen as less important and suggest that destination management is controlled by a limited number of stakeholders
