applied computer science. Constraint satisfaction problems (CSPs) are
of particular interest to the constraint programming research
community, as well as for many real world applications. Along with
pure systematic techniques for solving CSPs, local search and hybrid
techniques have proved to be very effective on some classes of
problems.
Design and analysis of stochastic local search algorithms
for constraint satisfaction involve a wide number of issues in
algorithmics, programming, statistics, probability and empirical
analysis. The series of workshop named Local search
techniques in constraint satisfaction (LSCS) has been established
with the aim of providing an open and informal environment for
discussions of all aspects of local search techniques and related
areas, and for introducing recent results and ongoing research

Die Untersuchung der Buchmärkte, in Frankreich wie in den Vereinigten Staaten, ist noch unvollständig und wenig zufriedenstellend. Es wird hier festgestellt, dass die Untersuchungsinstrumente zerstreut sind und das die Eigenheit der Ware Buch fur zahlreiche Wirtschaftler noch nachgewiesen werden muss. Ein Bericht über eine umfangreiche Forschungsarbeit uber den amerikanischen Fall, führte uns zu der Feststellung, dass trotz aller bekannten oder noch zu entdeckenden Unterschiede die Marktuntersuchung der beiden Lander in mehreren Punkten sich auf ubereinstimmende Konzepte beruft und dass sie zu vergleichbaren Fragestellungen fuhrt. Es öffnet sich also ein kohärentes Untersuchungsfeld in Bezug auf die Analyse dieser reproduzierbaren Kulturgüter.Françoise Benhamou : The book market : a review.
The study of book markets, in France as well as in the United States, is still incomplete and less than satisfactory. It will be observed herein that the tools of analysis are scattered, and that the specificity of book merchandise remains to be demonstrated for a number of economists. A review of a substantial research work on the American example has led us to state that in spite of all the differences that are known or that remain to be discovered, the study of markets of both countries recalls — on several points — the same concepts, and leads to analogous questions. A coherent field of investigation is thus opening up, concerned with the analysis of these reproducible cultural goods.L'étude des marchés du livre, en France comme aux Etats-Unis, est encore partielle et peu satisfaisante. On observera ici que les outils d'analyse sont éclatés et que la spécificité de la marchandise livre reste encore à démontrer pour nombre d'économistes. Un compte rendu d'un substantiel travail de recherche sur le cas américain nous a conduit à constater que, malgré toutes les différences que l'on connaît ou qu'il convient encore de découvrir, l'étude des marchés des deux pays fait appel, sur plusieurs points, à des concepts identiques et mène à des interrogations analogues. Un domaine cohérent d'investigations s'ouvre donc en ce qui concerne l'analyse de ces biens culturels reproductibles.Françoise Benhamou : El comercio del libro : un estado de los trabajos.
El estudio de los mercados del libro, en Francia como en los Estados Unidos, es todavia parcial y poco satisfactorio. Se observará aqui que los medios de análisis han estallado y que el carácter específico de la mercancía libro queda aún por demostrar por numerosos economistas. Un informe de un denso trabajo de investigación acerca del caso americano nos ha conducido a constatar que, a pesar de todas las diferencias que se conoce о que conviene todavia de descubrir, el estudio de los mercados de los dos paises recurre, sobre varios puntos, a unos conceptos idénticos y conduce a unas interrogaciones análogas. No full textThe current study sought to evaluate the characteristics of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and current management practices in the European Union by surveying physician and patient records. A detailed survey of physician practices and management of patients with CHB was conducted between July and October 2006 in France, Germany, Italy and Spain. A total of 200 physicians participated in the survey, and data were collected from 2023 patients with chronic HBV infection. Most patients were men (69%), who had hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg)-negative disease (64%), and demonstrated evidence of significant disease [53%; moderate fibrosis (35%), compensated cirrhosis (14%), or decompensated cirrhosis (4%)]. Among the 1665 HBV-monoinfected patients surveyed, 1184 (71%) were currently receiving treatment for chronic HBV infection. At treatment initiation, 70% of HBeAg-positive patients had both pretreatment serum HBV DNA levels = 2 x the upper limit of normal (ULN), and 81% of HBeAg-negative patients had HBV DNA levels of = 2 x ULN, while the HBeAg-negative patients had HBV DNA levels < 7 log(10) copies/mL
Spatially-localized time dependent solutions including turbulence and their interactions in 2D Kolmogorov flow
No full textIn 2D Kolmogorov flow in small aspect ratio domains, spatially-localized solutions such as kink, traveling or time-dependent kink-antikink pars coexist. However, the conservation of the flow rate in the y direction strongly restrict combination of localized solutions and their positioning. We find that by adding a homogeneous flow U y their positioning is controlled and each of localized solutions including a spatially-localized chaos is isolated. Numerical results suggest that these isolated solutions can be elements constructing a whole flow
Characteristics of overlap region in high-Reynolds number turbulent channel flow
No full textDirect numerical simulation of the fully developed turbulent channel flows have been carried out at the Reynolds number based on the friction velocity and the channel half width, 2000, 4000 and 8000. A hybrid 10th order accurate finite difference scheme in the stream and spanwise directions, and a second-order scheme in the wall-normal direction is adapted as the spatial discretization method. We observed the plateau profiles in the indicator function corresponded to the von Karman constant. Furthermore, second peak of streamwise pre-multiplied spectra were appeared in the same wall normal height, 300 < y+ < 600, in case of Re = 4000. Nevertheless, the effects of the lager than the channel half height scale on the streamwise turbulent intensity are fixed contributions without dependence on Reynolds number. These results suggested that the new streamwise vortexes are formed between buffer layer and outer layer with increasing of Reynolds number
