A Process Framework for Managing Quality of Service in Private Cloud
As information systems leaders tap into the global market of cloud computing-based services, they struggle to maintain consistent application performance due to lack of a process framework for managing quality of service (QoS) in the cloud. Guided by the disruptive innovation theory, the purpose of this case study was to identify a process framework for meeting the QoS requirements of private cloud service users. Private cloud implementation was explored by selecting an organization in California through purposeful sampling. Information was gathered by interviewing 23 information technology (IT) professionals, a mix of frontline engineers, managers, and leaders involved in the implementation of private cloud. Another source of data was documents such as standard operating procedures, policies, and guidelines related to private cloud implementation. Interview transcripts and documents were coded and sequentially analyzed. Three prominent themes emerged from the analysis of data: (a) end user expectations, (b) application architecture, and (c) trending analysis. The findings of this study may help IT leaders in effectively managing QoS in cloud infrastructure and deliver reliable application performance that may help in increasing customer population and profitability of organizations. This study may contribute to positive social change as information systems managers and workers can learn and apply the process framework for delivering stable and reliable cloud-hosted computer applications

Maskara: A mental health awareness documentary for today’s youth
Abstract onlyMental Health is a sensitive topic in our generation. It is often confused with the term Mental Illness. This portfolio development project aims to produce an experimental documentary, where we incorporate animation and expository documentary, which conveys the situations of a person with Mental Illness and the things that a person can do in order to help the affected.
The animation was created using the graphic software of Adobe Photoshop, Premier, and After Effects.
The project gained positive reviews from selected CPU college students whom the movie was shown to. The researchers concluded that this thesis project has successfully raised the awareness of Mental Health and it’s importance in our society. It also gained a positive feedback from the ethical review committee, they also suggested some things that can help improve the study.Includes bibliographical referencesBachelor of Science in Digital Media and Interactive Art

High Resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar Based on Multiple Reflectarray Apertures
This paper presents the design, manufacturing, testing, and validation of the MASKARA (Multiple Apertures for high-resolution SAR based on Ka-band Reflectarray) Breadboard Model (BBM), a large Ka-band reflectarray antenna developed for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) applications. The BBM features a dual-offset antenna configuration intended for a high-resolution, wide-swath SAR instrument. At the core of the system is a 1.5 m × 0.55 m reflectarray operating between 35.5–36.0 GHz in the Ka-band. To our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of a reflectarray antenna designed to support two distinct modes of operation, exploiting the inherent advantages of reflectarrays—such as reduced cost and compact stowage—over traditional solutions. The antenna provides a high-resolution mode requiring a higher-gain beam in one polarization and a low-resolution mode covering a larger swath with broader beam coverage in the orthogonal polarization. The design process follows a holistic, multidisciplinary approach, integrating RF and thermomechanical considerations through iterative and concurrent design reviews. The BBM has been successfully manufactured and experimentally tested, and the measurement results show good agreement with simulations, confirming the validity of the proposed concept and demonstrating its potential for future high-performance SAR missions
Are bank loans still “special” (especially during a crisis)? Empirical evidence from a European country
We investigate bank loans’ specialness with a particular focus on the recent boom and bust cycle. We perform an empirical analysis using event study methodology on a sample of 253 large loan announcements for French borrowers between January 2000 and December 2009. We find a significant and negative reaction to bank loan announcements which is mostly driven by loan provided during the crisis period. We also document significant changes in bank behavior over the boom and bust cycle, with important contractual and organizational modifications reflecting a potential “wake-up call” of banks during the crisis.Bank loans, boom and bust, crisis, event study, Europe.
Cardiac resynchronization therapy beyond nominal settings: who needs individual programming of the atrioventricular and interventricular delay?
Compared with the best of the currently available device nominal AV and VV delays, 23–45% of CRT patients can
yield additional acute haemodynamic effect by individual optimization of the delays. A new nominal VV delay of 40 ms
LV pre-activation is recommended. Male gender, ischaemic aetiology, and longer PR interval are associated with a
larger effect of individual optimization
