The compositional techniques of Luigi Dallapiccola\u27s twelve-tone music
The twelve tone music of Luigi Dallapiccola is generally summarized, concentrating on the solo piano work, Quaderno musicale di Annalibera as an example. Movement I, III, XI of the piece are analyzed in more detail, highlighting the serial techniques involved. The author\u27s own composition and compositional process is then described with reference to the compositional techniques of Luigi Dallapiccola. The three movements and author\u27s composition are included as musical scores
Inactive normal X in a female leukemic patient with an acquired X/autosome translocation.
An X;9;22 translocation was detected in bone marrow cells of a female patient with blastic crisis of CML. A dynamic study following 5-BrdU treatment showed that the inactive late-replicating X chromosome was the normal one. This pattern of X-chromosome replication appears to be superimposable on the most usual model found in congenital X/autosome translocations. It is suggested that preferential autosome translocation onto the active X chromosome could be the general rule in acquired X/autosome translocations associated with long survival
Gene dosage studies regionally assign the phosphoserine phosphatase gene to 7p15.1 or 2
: Gene dosage studies in subjects with imbalances of the short arm of chromosome 7 have suggested the localization of the phosphoserine phosphatase (PSP) structural gene to p22.1----pter or p15----p21.2. We have found normal enzyme activity in the fibroblasts from a patient with dup (7) (p15.3----pter). This result refines the assignment of the PSP gene to the 7p15.1----p15.2 sub-bands
