TYPES OF FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE FOUND IN THE NECK DEEP'S ''WISHFUL THINKING'' ALBUM
No full textThis research uses a descriptive qualitative method to identify the types of figurative language in the lyrics of the Wishful Thinking album and to understand the meaning of each type. The data was taken from the lyrics in the Wishful Thinking album. A descriptive qualitative approach was chosen to explain the figurative language in detail, with data collected through documentation. The results show that there are various types of figurative language in the album’s lyrics. Hyperbole is the most common, appearing 84 times. There are also 32 examples of paradox, 28 of irony, 25 of repetition, 22 of personification, and 4 of simile. Simile is the least common type found in this album
