Public and private food procurement and short food value chains in urban areas: a case study analysis
No full textThis chapter explores the PPP-URB (Public and Private Food Procurement and Short Food Value Chains in Urban Areas) project within the Onfoods PNRR research. It details how the project has been organized through a system design approach by the coordinator (Politecnico di Milano - Design Department) to embrace the diversity of disciplines and various points of view and approaches to the topic. It outlines the overall organization and dives deep into the first deliverable on the analysis of case studies through the different expertise lenses of the partners. The project focuses on the food ecosystems within small territorial units, specifically tailored to university campuses, to understand their role in local food systems. The first deliverable of the PPP-URB is related to the analysis of case studies useful for approaching the second deliverable, which concerns strategic approaches to the topic, and the third, related to in-field experimentation. The author describes how the partnership has been organized and how the case studies analysis has been approached, providing key insights for the following chapters that dive deep into the case studies through the expertise lenses of the partners

Escuela de Lenguas; Argentina.Proponemos pensar una narrativa actual desde la perspectiva del monstruo, según su etimología lo que se muestra, lo que marca una diferencia- y según la arqueología foucaultiana de la noción - lo que las prácticas e instituciones constituyen como diferencia cultural por transgresión de la ley de la naturaleza y de la ley jurídica, o por anomalía del comportamiento. Tal como han sido clasificados y jerarquizados desde el poder y los saberes, en Las primas y El bultito de Mangacha Spina de Aurora Venturini los cuerpos se presentan y componen una galería argentina de monstruos y de monstruosidades: deformidades de los cuerpos, del saber, monstruos morales, individuos incorregibles, figuras anómalas de la sexualidad: cada uno toma forma específica en y por la enunciación de una voz discordante o por la visibilización de un cuerpo anómalo, un tono feroz o nostálgico, registros de humor negro, irónicos o que testimonian la potencia de experimentación. Optical eye tracking system for non-invasive and automatic monitoring of eye position and movements in radiotherapy treatments of ocular tumors
No full textA noninvasive eye tracking system based on infrared 3-D video-oculographic techniques is proposed for the automatic monitoring of eye position and orientation in external beam radiotherapy of ocular tumors. The presented method can be applied for the real-time estimation of lesion position and tumor-beam misalignments, allowing automatic patient setup and eye movement gated treatments. A prototypal eye tracker was developed and tested on five subjects, achieving gaze estimation errors of 0.5° and eye monitoring frequencies of 125 Hz. The proposed application can potentially improve quality and efficacy of ocular radiotherapy treatments, currently based on invasive, qualitative, and manual control procedure

No full textThe present invention is about a device for non-invasive monitoring of an eye position and ocular movements of a patient, comprising:
- a housing body (2) having at least one through opening (2a);
- a plurality of light sources (3) housed in said housing body (2);
- a plurality of sensor means (4) housed in said housing body (2);
- deflector means (6) for invisible radiation (RL) supplied, in use, by said plurality of light sources (3) and reflected by said eye (O) under examination;
- support means (8) that can be adjusted for said housing body (2);
- at least one program data processing and control unit (9). The support means (8) can be adjusted in such a way that the through opening (2a) of the housing body (2) can be placed at the eye (O) under examination so that the invisible radiation hits the eye (O) frontally.
The program data processing and control unit (9) is designed to calculate instant-by-instant the position and orientation of a suitable three-dimensional reference system integral with the eye with respect to a predetermined three-dimensional reference system
