    Nowadays, web application attacks have increased tremendously due to the large number of users and applications. Thus, industries are paying more attention to using Web application Firewalls and improving their security which acts as a shield between the app and the internet by filtering and monitoring the HTTP traffic. Most works focus on either traditional feature extraction or deep methods that require no feature extraction method. We noticed that a combination of an unsupervised language model and a classic dimension reduction method is less explored for this problem. Inspired by this gap, we propose a new unsupervised anomaly detection model with better results than the existing state-of-the-art model for anomaly detection in WAF security. This paper focuses on this structure to explore WAF security: 1) feature extraction from HTTP traffic packets by using NLP (natural language processing) methods such as word2vec and Bert, and 2) Dimension reduction by PCA and Autoencoder, 3) Using different types of anomaly detection techniques including OCSVM, isolation forest, LOF and combination of these algorithms to explore how these methods affect results.  We used the datasets CSIC 2010 and ECML/PKDD 2007 in this paper, and the model has better results.

    A one pot synthesis of novel bioactive tri- substitute-condensed-imidazopyridines that targets snake venom phospholipase A<inf>2</inf>

    Drugs such as necopidem, saripidem, alpidem, zolpidem, and olprinone contain nitrogencontaining bicyclic, condensed-imidazo1,2-αpyridines as bioactive scaffolds. In this work, we report a high-yield one pot synthesis of 1-(2-methyl-8-aryl-substitued-imidazo1,2-α pyridin-3-yl)ethan-1-onefor the first-time. Subsequently, we performed in silico mode-ofaction analysis and predicted that the synthesized imidazopyridines targets Phospholipase A2 (PLA2). In vitro analysis confirmed the predicted target PLA2 for the novel imidazopyridine derivative1-(2-Methyl-8-naphthalen-1-yl-imidazo 1,2-αpyridine-3-yl)-ethanone (compound 3f) showing significant inhibitory activity towards snake venom PLA2 with an IC50 value of 14.3 μM. Evidently, the molecular docking analysis suggested that imidazopyridine compound was able to bind to the active site of the PLA2 with strong affinity, whose affinity values are comparable to nimesulide. Furthermore, we estimated the potential for oral bioavailability by Lipinski's Rule of Five.     Research Data Management in India: A Pilot Study

    Data is a by-product of the research process where published results are the output. More and more research institutes are getting interested in this by-product. Data could be in the form of statistics, experimental results, observational data, interview recordings, etc. Organizing the varied forms of data is a challenge for any institute. This is particularly so in the present scenario of constantly changing technologies for data storage and retrieval. The funding agencies are making it mandatory to archive these datasets so that these can be preserved for the posterity and / or re-used by others. Libraries, as a part of the research institutes, seem to be well equipped to organize and manage these datasets. The author undertook the present study to find the level of involvement of libraries in ‘data management’ in India. A survey was done to assess the awareness about data curation, data archival policies, infrastructure required, technologies used, etc. The survey sample consisted of 15 national research / academic institutes in India. The study showed that libraries’ role in data management in research / academic institutes was still at a very early stage of development in India

    Publication Pattern of scientists of Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, India

    Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) is an institute of national repute and is being funded by Department of Space (Government of India). However, a bibliometric study measuring its research output has not been carried out yet. The present study is a step in that direction and tries to find the publication pattern of research carried out in the institute. The period covered is 1997 to 2006. The study aims to quantify the publication output of researchers at the institute, to study the productivity of scientists in PRL and to determine whether it conforms to the Lotka’s Law. It tries to discern the authorship and collaboration pattern in journals as well as the conference proceedings. It also tries to find the preferred mode of publication of PRL scientists. The record of papers - published in journals and conference proceedings - and invited talks delivered have been used to study the publication pattern. The source for this data is the Annual Reports of the institute for the period of 1997-2006. The study found that multiple authored and double authored papers are on the rise in PRL. Comparing the data of collaborative papers in journals and conference proceedings, international collaboration is higher in journals than in conference proceedings. The journals most preferred by PRL scientists for publication are Physical Review A followed by Current Science and Physical Review D during 1997-2006. The study also found that Prof. G. S. Agarwal, was the most prolific author followed by Prof. A. K. Singhvi and Prof Utpal Sarkar as regards publications in journals

    FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF ANTIAGING PHYTOSOMAL GEL

     Objective: The aim of the present study was to prepare and evaluate antiaging phytosomal gel.Method: For this purpose, tender coconut water, Aloe vera extract, grape seed extract, vitamin E, and jojoba oil were taken. The cytokinins present in coconut water show astounding effects in preventing premature aging. A. vera contains Vitamin E and C and phenol compounds which contribute to aging. Grape seed extract contains polyphenols mainly in the form of flavonoids which are highly potent antioxidants. It also possessed an antiaging vitamin known as oligomeric proanthocyanidins which prevented premature aging. Vitamin E was chosen because of its antioxidant properties. Jojoba oil was chosen because it had good moisturizing properties and it was similar to human skin oil, sebum. Conventional dosage forms such as creams and gels were prepared using these ingredients, but they showed less antiaging effect. Therefore, phytosome was prepared by binding herbal extracts to phosphatidylcholine (acts as a carrier and nourishes the skin). They had a phospholipid molecular structure which included a water-soluble head and two fat-soluble tails, and due to this dual solubility, it was better absorbed and so it was used for the treatment of skin disorders, antiaging, and skin carcinomas.Result: Nine different formulations of the antiaging cream, gel, and phytosomal gel were prepared. Physicochemical parameters such as pH, viscosity, homogeneity, spreadability, and extrudability were determined. In vitro antioxidant studies were performed for the prepared antiaging cream, gel, and phytosomal gel. Among the three different formulations, phytosomal gel was chosen to be the best formulation to treat wrinkles and blemishes on the skin. When compared to the conventional dosage forms such as creams and gels, the phytosomal gel could release the herbal ingredients and showed better penetration into the skin. From the nine different formulations, F2 containing both tender coconut water and A. vera extract was chosen as the optimized formula. Optimization was done on the basis of in vitro antioxidant studies and physicochemical parameters. F2 acts as a potent free radical scavenger and inhibits oxidation by free radicals. 2,2-diphenylpicrylhydrazyl free radical scavenging assay was chosen as the best method in screening the antioxidant activity of the herbal extracts. The IC50 value of the prepared antiaging cream, gel, and phytosomal gel was found to be 70.5 μg/ml, 65.0 μg/ml, and 47.0 μg/ml, respectively. The lower the IC50 value, the highest the antioxidant activity. Thus, the antiaging phytosomal gel proved to show the highest antioxidant activity. The stability of the optimized formulation was carried out at two different temperatures, 30°C ± 2°C and 4°C ± 2°C, and the formulation was found to be stable at the end of 45 days.Conclusion: From the present study, it can be concluded that the prepared antiaging phytosomal gel was safe, convenient, and efficient carrier to deliver the herbal extracts. It also showed better penetration into the skin. Hence, the desired antiaging property was obtained. It is because of this reason, it is used in skin care cosmetics, mainly for antiaging treatment.</jats:p

    Surface and Interface Engineered Hydrated Nickel Hydroxide on Nickel Enables Rapid Active Species Shuffling in Alkaline Hydrogen Electrocatalysis

    Achieving acid‐like hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity in alkaline media using low‐cost, non‐precious metal catalysts is essential for energy conversion technologies. Here, we demonstrate the indispensable role of water within the catalyst layer in enhancing HOR/HER kinetics, mediated by hydrated and dehydrated oxophilic sites on nickel (Ni) catalysts coated with nickel hydroxide (Ni(OH)2). Electrochemical measurements combined with density functional theory (DFT) calculations show that an acid‐like environment creates at the electrified interface through water molecules that bridge active hydrogen and oxygen species within the catalyst surface layer. This interfacial behavior differs from that described in conventional bulk and interface models. Our findings highlight the importance of interfacial hydrogen bonding network across the interface in hydrogen electrocatalysis and provide guidance for the design of efficient catalysts for alkaline fuel cell and electrolyzer applications

Effectiveness was measured by evaluating treatment outcomes, specifically improvement in occlusion and treatment duration. A retrospective study was designed to compare 46 patients who underwent selective alveolar corticotomy to 80 patients who received traditional orthodontic therapy provided by four private practitioners in the U.S. Cases were compared using three commonly used orthodontic indices to determine case complexity and occlusal outcome: Peer Assessment Rating, Objective Grading System, and Discrepancy Index. Results indicated that patients in the corticotomy group on average were 23 years older than patients in the traditional treatment group. After controlling for confounders at baseline, there were no differences between corticotomy and traditional treatment group as measured by PAR score and Discrepancy Index. After controlling for confounders such as gender, age, race, tooth extraction and dentition pattern using linear regression, it was found that cases in the corticotomy group had treatment times 2.4 times shorter than those in the traditional group (p[less than]0.0001). After controlling for confounders, no difference in occlusal outcome was found between corticotomy and traditional treatment when measured using OGS and the PAR index. Further studies will be required to address the limitations of our study and to verify our findings
