THE MYSTIC ROAD : SELECTED POEMS - ALEXIS KARPOUZOS
Alexis karpouzos (born on April 09, 1967) is a philosopher, author, spiritual master and pioneer of higher consciousness. He is author of several books on philosophy, metaphysics, spirituality, modern science. His most famous books are: ‘’Universal consciousness’’, ‘’non-duality’’, ‘’An ocean of souls’’, ‘’Beyond the heaven’’. Alexis Karpouzos is also a recording artist. He has recorded two music albums and twenty-four singles songs. He has also appeared in two documentary films, television and radio productions. He is the pioneer of the post-ontology consciousness and the wisdom of universal wholeness. The global language of poetry of Alexis Karpouzos, by following the paths of wisdom, is a vehicle for transmitting human knowledge and values, history, ancient traditions, and links with nature. It transmits the human values and worldly knowledge that are essential for opening ourselves to the Other. Poetic creation, therefore, forges very strong links between humans -it transcends beyond languages, beliefs and cultures. Each poem appears in its original form, in a vibrant celebration of life, diversity, language, and the enduring power of poetry. At a time when the Humanities are under threat, this book offers a defense of poetry within the context of growing interest in mindfulness in spirituality, in consciousness, in art, in education.</p
COSMOLOGY, PHILOSOPHY AND PHYSICS: ALEXIS KARPOUZOS
If physics leads us today to a world view which is essentially holistic, it returns, in a way, to its beginning, 2,500 years ago. It is interesting to follow the evolution of Western science along its spiral path, starting from the mystical philosophies of the early Greeks, rising and unfolding in an impressive development of intellectual thought that increasingly turned away from its mystical origins to develop a world view which is in sharp contrast to that of the Far East In its most recent stages, Western science is finally overcoming this view and coming back to those of the early Greek and the Eastern philosophies. This time, however, it is not only based on intuition, but also on experiments of great precision and sophistication, and on a rigorous and consistent mathematical formalism. The parallels to modem physics appear not only in the Vedas of Hinduism, in the I Ching , or in the Buddhist sutras, but also in the fragments of Heraclitus, Parmenides, Plotinus, African-American philosophy, the eastern negative theology, in the Sufism of lbn Arabi, in the holistic spirit of Giordano Bruno and Meister Eckhart, in monadology of Leibniz, in the Absolute Idea of Hegel and Shelling, e.t.
All ancient spiritual traditions suggest that the world is a unity and the multiplicity is only apparent. Modern science claims that the visible world of matter and the multiplicity is only apparent, the reality is unseen and invisible. Since different roads the mysticism and the rationalism lead to the same view, the view of the open totality of the world. The mystical insight of spirituality and the rational mind of science leading to the open thought, the wisdom of life. The spiritual experience of oneness conduces to the same insight as reasoning through science. Both convey the insight of fundamental interconnection between ourselves, other people, other forms of life, the biosphere and, ultimately, the universe. Science and spirituality, far from being mutually exclusive and conflicting elements, are complementary partners in the search for the path that can enable humanity to recover its oneness with the world. Science demonstrates the urgent and objective need for it; and spirituality testifies to its inherent value and supreme desirability. We can reason to our oneness in the world, and we can experience our oneness with the world. The time has come to do both, for they are complementary and mutually reinforcing.
Presents a revolutionary new paradigm of Cosmic Thought that bridges the divide between science and spirituality. Discloses the ramifications of non-localized consciousness and how the physical world and spiritual experience are two aspects of the same Cosmos. What scientists are now finding at the outermost frontiers of every field is overturning all the basic premises concerning the nature of matter and reality. The essays on this book are the notes from the international e – learning courses that were given by the philosopher, and author Alexis Karpouzos during the winter of 2014. Students studying in London, Amsterdam, Berlin and Paris took part in the courses, which were held by the educational and cultural center "Alexis karpouzos community", located in Athens
Nutritional Aspects of Bone Health and Fracture Healing
Introduction. Fractures are quite common, especially among the elderly. However, they can increase in prevalence in younger ages too if the bone health is not good. This may happen as a result of bad nutrition. Methods. A customized, retrospective review of available literature was performed using the following keywords: bone health, nutrition, and fractures. Results. Insufficient intake of certain vitamins, particularly A and D, and other nutrients, such as calcium, may affect bone health or even the time and degree of bone healing in case of fracture. The importance of different nutrients, both dietary and found in food supplements, is discussed concerning bone health and fracture healing. Conclusion. A healthy diet with adequate amounts of both macro- and micronutrients is essential, for both decreasing fracture risk and enhancing the healing process after fracture. © 2017 Athanasios Karpouzos et al
From the study of our cases (8 cases in 5 males and 3 females): - 2 cases of ectopic right subclavian artery with a retroesophageal course (ARSCA) - 2 cases in which the left vertebral artery (LVA) originated from the aortic arch - 3 cases of common stem of the brachiocephalic trunk (BCT) with the left common carotid artery (LCCA) - 1 case of a left-sided brachiocephalic trunk (BCT) with a characteristic elongation and a high position relative to the trachea and after a detailed literature review it is concluded that the embryological interpretation of the aortic arch anatomical variants and its branching pattern can be regarded as almost fully studied. Most of these variants are of an anatomical and embryological interest and others, especially the cases in which a vascular ring is created around the trachea and esophagus, are of clinical and surgical interest. Given the relatively high frequency (approximately 15%) of these variants, they should be taken into account: a) In the surgery of neck and the upper part of the mediastinum b) In symptomatic patients, the aortic arch should be angiographically investigated, as well as the esophagus and trachea after the injection of contrast agents. Clinician should consider the possibility of a surgical manipulation taking into account the existed symptomatology and radiographical evidence
Anatomic study and variations of the Adamkiewicz arterty and relations with the lumbar tuberosity
In this anatomical research, twenty human cadaveries were studied by the researcher. Out of these, twelve were women cadavers and eight of them were men. Those cavaders are used in the training of the second year students of the Medical School of University of Athens. Also eight cases of spinal cord blood supply from Anatomical Museum samples were used. Three of those samples were from men cadavers and five of women. In the current study, two variations of the artery of Adamkiewicz were found during cadavers dissection. The meticulous knowledge of this arterial variants is of paramount importance for the surgeons intervening in the thoracolumbar area. The artery's lesion or injury or obstruction may lead to loss of urinary and fecal continence as well as to weakness and paralysis of the lower limbs (paraplegia).Στην παρούσα ανατομική μελέτη, ο ερευνητής μελέτησε είκοσι (20) ανθρώπινα πτώματα, που χρησιμοποιούνται για την εκπαίδευση των Β'ετών φοιτητών της Ιατρικής Σχολής Αθηνών.

Methotrexate-Induced Toxicity After Ultrasound-Guided Intragestational Injection in a Patient with Caesarean Scar Pregnancy—A Case Report
Background and Objectives: Caesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) is a rare form of ectopic pregnancy in which the early pregnancy implants at the site of the uterine scar. Methotrexate (MTX) in lower doses can be used to treat CSPs. However, MTX administration is associated with a spectrum of side effects that include hematological toxicities. This case report presents a CSP treated with an intragestational injection of MTX and subsequently developed pancytopenia. Materials and Methods: A 23-year-old woman at six weeks and six days of pregnancy was referred as a potential case of CSP. After establishing the diagnosis, she was treated with a transvaginal ultrasound-guided intragestational administration of 80 mg MTX (adjusted to 50 mg/m2 body surface area) under sedation. Results: On day four after the MTX injection, she developed oral ulcers, fever, and pruritic phlyctenular maculopapular rash. Subsequently, the patient developed febrile neutropenia and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. On day six, a subsequent exacerbation of the rash was observed with the formation of blisters and purplish spots with concurrent odynophagia and sialorrhea. Ultimately, the patient developed pancytopenia due to bone marrow suppression. Fifteen days after MTX administration, the patient recovered and was discharged from the hospital hemodynamically stable, afebrile, with dropping β-hcg levels, and in good clinical condition. Conclusions: Although methotrexate administration is the preferred option for the treatment of cesarean scar pregnancies, clinicians should be aware of the fact that its use entails potential risks, even when it is used locally. To our knowledge, this case is the first description of pancytopenia due to bone marrow suppression following a single low dose of intragestational methotrexate injection
