ABOUT ASSUMPTION UNIVERSITY (AU)
The St. Gabriel Foundation, a worldwide organization founded in France in 1705, is responsible for the establishment and administration of Assumption University. The Foundation has been dedicated to education and philanthropic activities in Thailand for more than 100 years and it now operates 14 educational institutions providing all levels of education. Assumption School of Business was initially founded in 1969, and in 1972 it became Assumption Business Administration College (ABAC). In 1975 the Ministry of University Affairs accredited ABAC and later in 1990 it was accredited as a fully-fledged university, and renamed as Assumption University (AU). The University is administered by a Council which takes policy initiatives and provides guidance for long-term planning and the formulation of control procedures.
Today, AU is considered the leading private university in Thailand in the fields of Business,Management and Information Technology as demonstrated by the placement of many of itsgraduates in key management and technological positions in industry, government, banking and multinational conglomerates worldwide.
The University’s curriculum is patterned after the American semester hour credit system andmost textbooks are similar to those used in international universities. Graduates receive aneducation that is both globally marketable and flexible, leading to highly productive careerswithin the various sectors of society from which the students come and to which they aspire tobe.
CAMPUSESAssumption University maintains three campuses: the original campus located at Hua Mak, the new campus at Suvarnabhumi, and the City Campus, which is located on the 14th floor of the ZEN Department Store @ Central World in the center of Bangkok.
Hua Mak CampusThe original campus is a compact, vertical campus comprising 17 buildings with the tallesthaving a total of 16 floors. A small lake surrounded by lush gardens and seating is a focal point of beauty and tranquility. Food, convenience and service shops to support student needs surround the campus. This will become the home of postgraduate faculties in the near future.
The Suvarnabhumi CampusThe Suvarnabhumi Campus, constructed as a “University in a Park”, comprises 200 acres of abeautifully landscaped assembly of mixed architecture surrounded by lush, tropical gardens and trees. Designed to host the university’s undergraduate degree programs, it offers everything: a meeting/exhibition center, hotel, non-coeducational dormitories, a magnificent chapel, a museum, three academic halls, and much more.
The centerpiece of the campus is the Cathedral of Learning, a 39-storey tower which housesstudent support services, the library, reception halls, seminar rooms and offices. Transportation between the two campuses is convenient and inexpensive. Shuttles run throughout the day between various points in Bangkok and the Suvarnabhumi Campu

Assumption University of Thailand (AU) by Office of Vice-President for Academic Affairs called for a management meeting, on June 1, 2021 at Seminar Room, De Montfort Hall, Hua Mak Campus to brainstorm and determine management directions and potential teaching and learning methods of all AU faculties under the vision of Transformation of Assumption University
AU Chinese New Year Celebration
Assumption University of Thailand (AU) welcomed the Year of the Dragon with a grand Chinese New Year celebration that captivated the hearts and imaginations of the AU community. Held in front of the Cathedral of Learning the Suvarnabhumi Campus, this event was a collaborative masterpiece brought to life by the Confucius Institute of Assumption University (CIAU), Department of Business Chinese from the Theodore Maria School of Arts, Student Affairs, Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts, Louis Nobiron School of Music, and the Central Library.The celebration was honored with the presence of Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President of AU, alongside Rev. Bro. Dr. Amnuay Yoonprayong, Vice Rector for Moral Development Education, Rev. Bro. Dr. Verayuth Boonpram, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Rev. Bro. Dr. Monthol Prathumarach, Vice President for Student Affairs, marking the event with their presence and support
Facial masks donation by an Assumption University Chinese MBA student to Assumption University
Mr. Zhiming Pan, ID 621-9002 from the MBA program, Graduate School of Business at the Assumption University (AU), on the expressed approval by the Rector Magnificus of Assumption University, Rev. Brother Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, donated 1,000 pieces of civil masks imported from China to Assumption University on May 8, 2020. The donation was received by the Vice Rector for Administrative Affairs, Rev. Brother Dr. Achin Tengtrakul at the Office of International Affairs, and was witnessed by a Faculty Representative and a Chinese student Mr. Zongwen Xia, from the AU Graduate School of Business, and the Director and staff of the Office of Financial Management. The brief hand over ceremony was hosted by the Director of the Office of International Affairs
A study of leadership competency of student leaders paticipating in extra-curricular activities, Assumption University of Thailand

competency of student leaders who participate in extracurricular
activities throughout experiential learning
approach provided by Assumption University of Thailand
(Au). This study involved a sample of 242 student leaders
of Au for the academic year 2008 taken from a population
of 613 student leaders and in fact, there were 244
respondents who returned completed assessment using
purposive random sampling technique. The instrument
content was based on literature reviews and related
researches. Assessments were used to identify two parts:
demographic information and leadership competency in 5
dimensions of the Wagner‘s Leadership Competency
Model (LCM) (2004), which apportions as follows: SelfManagement,
Leading Others, Task-Management,
Innovation, and Social Responsibility as equally sustaining
variables. The research found that the level of leadership
competency of student leaders was at a strong level in all
dimensions of Wagner‘s LCM
