Extraction of broad-band passive lumped equivalent circuits of microwave discontinuities
A systematic general-purpose technique for the extraction of equivalent circuits of lumped, discontinuities and interconnects from full-wave electromagnetic-field numerical data is presented. The main feature of the method consists of approximating. the simulated data in order to generate a passive and feasible circuit in an automatic way. All the aspects of the methodology are addressed. Particular emphasis is laid on the approximation step, about which a new technique is proposed
An Efficient Frequency-Domain Method for the Analysis of Arbitrary Nonuniform Lossy Coupled Multiconductor Transmission Lines
An efficient method for the analysis of arbitrary NMTLs is presented and investigated. The considered structure is divided in a cascade of small slightly nonuniform transmission line sections, which can be accurately modelled by means of successive approximations in order to obtain the multiport ABCD transfer matrix in the frequency domain. The method is compared with other full-wave and quasi TEM approaches in order to show its accuracy and suitability in modelling arbitrary nonuniform coupled structure

FE Analysis of a Wire Crossing a Circular Aperture in a Finite Thickness Screen
A numerical analysis of the classical problem of a
cable passing through an aperture in a conducting shield of finite
thickness is presented. An efficient (A,F ) Finite-Element
formulation is adopted in order to solve the problem in terms of
the three components of the magnetic vector potential A and the
electric scalar potential F. The results are compared with data
obtained analytically and numerically by the Method of
Moments, showing a good agreement
Propagation characteristics of differential lines: the odd-mode impedance
New analytical expressions are proposed for the
prediction of the frequency dependence of the characteristic oddmode
impedance of differential interconnects. The classical
microwave definition is reviewed as well as analytical
formulations available in literature. A two dimensional Finite
Difference Frequency Domain method is applied to compare the
results and check the accuracy of the proposed expressions
Efficient frequency-domain simulation of arbitrary nonuniform lossy coupled interconnects
An efficient frequency-domain method for the analysis of arbitrary nonuniform lossy coupled multiconductor transmission lines and interconnects is presented and investigated. The proposed approach permits to handle any non-uniformity with excellent accuracy and efficiency. Examples and comparisons with simulated full-wave results are given to illustrate the high suitability of the approach in modeling arbitrary lines and interconnects
Passive Equivalent Circuits of Complex Discontinuities: an Improved Extraction Technique
The paper deals with the modellization of complex
discontinuities by passive lumped equivalent circuits. To this aim, an improved circuit extraction technique is proposed. The procedure is based on the approximation of the admittance/impedance parameters of the discontinuities derived by full-wave numerical simulations, in terms of rational functions suitable for the synthesis of high-order equivalent lumped circuits. The proposed extraction technique permits to derive directly feasible equivalent circuits which implicitly satisfy the passivity requirement
Design of a Microstrip Antenna Set-up for Bio-Experiments on Exposure to High-Frequency Electromagnetic Field
The aim of this work is to design an innovative exposure
system that enables accurate reproduction of various highfrequency
exposure environments for the experiments. Attention is
given to the solution of the general problem concerning the design
of an antenna system, given a set of constraints on the field components
profiles. Special reference is made to the replication of the
field distribution due to radio base (RB) stations for mobile communications,
but the procedure may be applied to other sources
as well, without significant modifications. The sources adopted for
this purpose are microstrip antennas. The field profiles obtained
by means of the realized source system have been measured and
compared favorably with the design specifications. The root means
square (rms) value and the polarization and spatial variations are
replicated
