Outbreak of Influenza A (2009) H1N1 among Thai Healthcare Workers: Is It Time to Integrate a Vaccination Program?
We report an outbreak of influenza A (2009) H1N1 among healthcare workers in a coronary care unit in Thailand. The attack rate was 32% (7 of 32 healthcare workers) after detection of influenza A (2009) H1N1 pneumonia in the index patient. Estimated costs for the outbreak investigation and control plan were 12-fold higher than estimated costs of vaccination for healthcare workers.</jats:p
