Kręte drogi biografii Stanisława Strumph-Wojtkiewicza
The article is an attempt to reconstruct the biography of Stanisław Strumph- Wojtkiewicz – a publicist, poet, journalist, translator – one of the most widely read writers of the Polish People’s Republic. Based on extensive archival materials, the author analyzes the life and work of Strumph-Wojtkiewicz, restoring the memory of a figure who is now almost completely forgotten, but who was once recognizable and appreciated both in the interwar period and during World War II, as well as in the post-war years
Tadeusz Kantor : in search of Tintagiles
The article focuses on how childhood influenced and inspired Tadeusz Kantor's work. A clear exemple of this would be the character of Tintagiles, created by Belgian author Maurice Maeterlinck and used by Kantor twice (in 1938 and 1987). Paintings by Polish artist Witold Wojtkiewicz provided an additional source of inspiration to the creation of this protagonist
Self-calibrating time-resolved near infrared spectroscopy
Time-resolved near infrared spectroscopy is considered to be a gold standard technique when measuring absolute values of tissue optical properties, as it provides separable and independent information about both tissue absorption and scattering. However, time-resolved instruments require an accurate characterization by measuring the instrument response function in order to decouple the contribution of the instrument itself from the measurement. In this work, a new approach to the methodology of analysing time-resolved data is presented where the influence of instrument response function is eliminated from the data and a self-calibrating analysis is proposed. The proposed methodology requires an instrument to provide at least two wavelengths and allows spectral parameters recovery (optical properties or constituents concentrations and reduced scatter amplitude and power). Phantom and in-vivo data from two different time-resolved systems are used to validate the accuracy of the proposed self-calibrating approach, demonstrating that parameters recovery compared to the conventional curve fitting approach is within 10% and benefits from introducing a spectral constraint to the reconstruction problem. It is shown that a multiwavelength time-resolved data can be used for parameters recovery directly without prior calibration (instrument response function measurement)
Zarządzanie własnością przemysłową w przedsiębiorstwach produkcyjnych – próba konstrukcji definicji pojęcia na użytek nauk o zarządzaniu
The purpose of this article is an attempt to define the concept of industrial property management based on literature research and the author's own conceptual work devoted to the problem of defining this area. As a result of the conducted analyses, the author concludes that the hitherto and inconsistent interpretations of the notion of industrial property, as well as their detachment from management sciences, and giving them a character proper to legal sciences, gives rise to significant problems in the understanding and implementation of management processes in this area, and more importantly, also in the understanding of the importance and significance of this area for the proper management of a manufacturing enterprise. The author presents the view that the concept of industrial property must be understood more extensively in management sciences and, at the same time, broadly enough to allow for an unambiguous definition of industrial property management that would serve its stakeholders in a key way that does not raise any substantial doubts.

The golden ratio of space – unism and spatial form : Design systems according to Katarzyna Kobro
Wymiaru teoretycznego współczesnej architektury można upatrywać w systemach generatywnych decydujących o kompozycji, harmonii oraz proporcjach formy przestrzennej dzieła architektury. Szukając historycznych podstaw tendencji generatywnych w architekturze i sztuce, autor przywołuje system artystyczny Katarzyny Kobro – współtwórczyni unizmu w rzeźbie i wybitnej artystki okresu międzywojennego w Polsce. Theoretical dimension of contemporary architecture can be seen in generative systems which determine the composition, harmony, proportion of spatial form, works of architecture. In order to highlight historical roots generative trends in architecture and art, author evokes artistic system by Katarzyna Kobro – co-founder of unism in sculpture and the outstanding artist of the interwar period in Poland. The theory of space-time in the composition of sculpture and architecture developed by Kobro today has a very strong scientific foundation in design. The article is an attempt to reconstruct the art system according to artist referring to the issues of the composition and architecture forms. The result of the work is to show the theoretical assumptions of Kobro’s artistic creation as a preview of the emergence of generative art in Poland. It turns out that the developed artistic system can be interpreted as an algorithmic process way in design approach. This observation refers to the Polish direction of shaping generative art, which has still not been comprehensively researched and described. The Kobro creation system uses the generative methodology in the composition of the work, announcing its special development in the era of digitization of architecture and art of the 21st century. The inductive method in the interpretation of Katarzyna Kobro’s art and theoretical texts were adopted. The iconographic research was conducted in terms of the location of contemporary generative art in Poland, the genesis of its creation and translating into the latest architecture
The Relation between Sustainable Development Trends and Customer Value Management
The sustainable development movement is an essential trend that can resist the excessive consumption and over-exploitation of resources. There have been considerable changes in the perception of the term “sustainable development” over the last 30 years. Difficulties in implementing the principles of rational use of natural resources have resulted from a general conflict between the objectives of economic development and the increasing dynamics of industrial production, the quality of the environment and the objectives of environmental protection. This research goal was to describe ways of linking sustainable development trends and the customer value management process. Research also aimed to indicate what this relationship drives. In order to process the collected individual in-depth interview (IDI) material, the author applied a qualitative analysis. As a result of the exploratory research, it was found that there is no complete agreement on who is responsible for implementing the sustainable development assumptions: producers or customers. However, the process of linking sustainable development trends and customer value management can be pointed out. According to this study, as those who make purchasing decisions, customers are the axis of this relationship. On the basis of the results of this research, as long as customers buy particular products, they will be offered by producers
Localization of substance P, calcitonin gene related peptide and galanin in the nerve fibers of porcine cystic ovaries
In a previous study, we showed that both the noradrenergic and cholinergic component of ovarian innervation is markedly changed in porcine cystic ovaries. The present study is aimed at elucidating the distribution pattern of substance P- (SP), calcitonin gene related peptide CGRP- and/or galanin (GAL)-containing nerve fibers within porcine cystic ovaries. The <i>status polycysticus</i> was induced by dexamethasone phosphate disodium salt i.m. injections performed from the 7th until the 21st day of the first studied estrous cycle. During the same period of time, gilts of the control group received saline. All animals were slaughtered on the expected 11th day of the second studied estrous cycle, and their ovaries were collected. When compared to control gonad, a distinct difference in the distribution pattern and the density of SP-, CGRP- and/or GAL-immunoreactive (GAL-IR) nerve fibers was observed. Thus, unlike in the control gonad, SP- and/or CGRP-IR perivascular nerve fibers were found to supply medullar blood vessels of polycystic ovary. Furthermore, the number of GAL-IR nerve fibers contributing to the ground plexus in polycystic ovaries was higher than that observed in the control gonads. Thus, as may be judged from the profound changes in the distribution pattern of differently chemically coded afferent terminals within polycystic gonads, it appears possible that neuropeptides released from these terminals may take part in the etiopathogenesis of this disorder. A Framework to Select Techniques Supporting Project Risk Management
The need for increasing quality while reducing time and costs asks for developing knowledge about how to manage risk in projects. However, communication and knowledge creation are not easy tasks, especially when dealing with uncertainty, because decision-making is often fragmented and a shared perspective on the goals, opportunities, and threats of a project is missing. With the purpose of stimulating knowledge, a framework to classify techniques supporting project risk management is proposed. To this end, three dimensions encompassing the main aspects characterising the managerial and operational scenario of a project are considered: the phases of the risk management process, the phases of the project life cycle, and the corporate maturity towards risk. The taxonomy is then applied to a wide selection of risk techniques based on the analysis of literature and the authors' experience. Future research efforts will be directed towards refining the framework and testing it in multiple industrie
