Mapping the Discipline of the Olympic Games An Author-Cocitation Analysis
The authors conducted an author cocitation analysis on prominent authors writing about the Olympics during the 1990s. Author cocitation is an established bibliometric technique that can be used to measure the relative similarities of topics written about by the cited authors. This enables a visual representation of the “intellectual space” of the discipline, in this case the Olympics, to be created for the period under review. So core and peripheral research areas are identified, along with their major contributors. The representation appears as a two-dimensional cluster-enhanced map. Subject expertise was then applied to the results to place labels on the generated clusters of authors and their topics

Trends in the size of the nation's homeless population during the 1980s: A surprising result
There are good national estimates of the number of homeless people in shelters in 1984, 1988, and 1990, but only in 1987 is there a reliable estimate of the number of people sleeping in streets. The large increase in the sheltered homeless population between 1984 and 1987-88 could reflect a shift of the homeless from street to shelters rather than a growth in total homelessness. Data from a number of local studies of homeless populations in U.S. cities in the 1980s have made it possible to estimate the ratio of the number of homeless on the street to the number of homeless in shelters and thereby to estimate the size of the national homeless population over this period with some degree of accuracy. Our estimates indicate that the expansion of shelters over the decade did have the effect of reducing the proportion of the homeless living on the street. Still, when we combine the estimated ratios with the estimates of the shelter population in 1984, 1987, 1988, and 1990, we find that homelessness about doubled between 1984 and 1987. We also find that homelessness declined between 1987 and 1990. At its peak, the number of people literally homeless on any given night was less than 400,000. Finally, our results also provide evidence that pure enumerations or censuses of the homeless population lead to undercounts. Both sample censuses and retrospective interview studies provide more complete counts.

Beryl Reid Says... Good Evening: Performing Queer Identity on British Television
Beryl Reid Says… Good Evening was a comedy revue series broadcast on BBC television in the late 1960s which showcased the talents of a renowned British character comedy performer. Beryl Reid’s career spanned music hall, variety theatre, dramatic acting, radio comedy, film and television. She was a celebrity figure from the 1950s to her death in the 1990s but never became a ‘star’ as such. Reid’s work is addressed as a form of queer performance, both in roles which reference lesbian sexuality and roles which depict eccentric femininities. This television series was one of the few attempts to showcase her talents, and it is discussed here as an example of how character comedy queers heteronormativity through its camp attention to the everyday
Legalization and Immigrant Homeownership: Evidence from Spain
A significant homeownership gap still remains between natives and immigrants in most countries. Because of the many advantages of homeownership for immigrants and for the communities where immigrants reside, a variety of countries have tried to implement policies that facilitate immigrant homeownership. Many of these policies hinge on immigrants’ legal status. Yet, owing to data limitations, we still know very little about its impact on immigrant homeownership. We address this gap in the literature and find that legalization raises immigrant homeownership by 20 percentage-points even after accounting for a wide range of individual and family characteristics known to impact housing ownership. This finding underscores the importance of legal status in immigrant assimilation –housing being an important indicator of immigrant adaptation, and the need for further explorations of the impact of amnesties on the housing markets of immigrant-receiving economies.Immigration, Housing, Legal Status, Spain
Student-parents' Perspectives and Challenges of Online Learning During the Covid-19 Pandemic: A Quantitative Study
Abstract: The Covid-19 pandemic forced educational institutions to shut down. Just like a damsel in distress, the educational system needed a knight in shining armor, and so online learning comes to the rescue. Online learning rescued many countries from academic freeze during this global pandemic. This present study will explore the perception and challenges of student-parents in online learning during this global pandemic. Perspectives and challenges were also examined in terms gender. Lastly, it is also explored if there is a relationship between the student-parent’s perspectives and challenges. Results shows that student-parents have neither positive or negative perception about online learning and that they experience moderate challenges in this learning setup. However, comparing the means between males and females, it is revealed that females are more challenge with this online learning set-up than males with a mean difference of 0.28. In terms of relationship between the student-parents’ perspectives and challenges of online learning, the results revealed that respondents’ challenges of online learning do not have association with their perspectives.

Evaluation and enhancement of instructional module in people and the Earth's ecosystem
This study evaluated and enhanced an instructional module on People and the Earth's Ecosystem using the CIPP model. Data were collected from BSED students, science teachers, and expert validators. Descriptive statistics, mean, standard deviation, and t- test for dependent samples were used for analysis. The study revealed that students had "Failure, Passing, Very Satisfactory and Satisfactory" conceptual understanding and "Failure" critical thinking skills prior to the use of enhanced module. Poor understanding and thinking skills could negatively impact grades and performance. Although, experts' feedback tells that, the module needs revisions in content organization, clarity, presentation, and visual aids. Clearer instructions and objectives were also necessary for effective guidance. After reviewing the module in general is "very acceptable" meaning the enhanced module has met expectations. They found the enhancements satisfactory and believed the module aligns with learning outcomes, suggesting its effectiveness in the classroom. Using the enhanced module, students demonstrated a "Very Good and Highly Outstanding" level of conceptual understanding and " Good and Very Good" critical thinking skills. This indicated successful facilitation of complex concept understanding and skill development. The changes made in the module positively impacted student learning outcomes. The effective strategies employed in this module can be replicated in other modules for similar success. Given its effectiveness, the enhanced module is likely to be recommended for use in other classes or schools offering this subject. Overall, the study showed the importance of evaluating and enhancing instructional modules in improving students' understanding and critical thinking skills. The findings provide valuable insights for module developers and educators aiming to enhance the learning experience
