Entertainment Recordings from Records AND Worship Service at the First Presbyterian Church, Port Penn
This reel-to-reel audio tape holds two distinct recordings. Side one holds a series of entertainment recordings taken from various phonographic records. The first is “It’s In The Book” with Johnny Standley and the Horace Height Orchestra, which seems to be a comedy program. The second is titled “What It Was, Was Football” with Andy Griffith, who tells a humorous story. The third is a humorous retelling of Romeo and Juliet. The fourth includes a piece of music called the “Exsanguination Blues” by Doug Harrell, and the firth includes a piece of music called the “Hospitality Blues.” Side one runs from the beginning of the recording until around 00:30:30. Side two, which begins at that point, includes a worship serves held at the First Presbyterian Church in Port Penn, Delaware on April 19, 1959. The services were presided by S. R. Piper, and the sermon was given by the Reverend J. E. Victor Carlson of Waynesburg College. The entire service is recorded from beginning to end

The Singer or the Song? Developments in Performers' Rights from the Perspective of a Cultural Economist
Over the last century, performers gradually acquired statutory protection of their economic and moral
rights. These rights are not copyright in the legal sense but neighboring rights and until recently, they
were mainly remuneration rights that are collectively administered. With the WPPT (WIPO
Performers and Phonograms Treaty), performers now have individual exclusive rights for digital
performances; this leads to the question: what has motivated this change – is it a change in the
perception of the value of performer or a change brought about by the changing technology of copying or,
indeed, a change that reflects different economic costs and benefits? The paper discusses the role of
copyright law as an incentive to performers and asks if the economic role of the performer is so different
from that of the author. The conclusion is that a complex interaction of the legal regulations, economic
conditions and institutional arrangements for administering these new rights will determine the outcome

Demam Berdarah Dengue merupakan penyakit endemik yang
penyebarannya sampai ke seluruh penjuru kota di Indonesia. Penyakit ini ditularkan
melalui gigitan nyamuk Aedes aegypti L. yang membawa virus dengue. Upaya
pencegahan penyakit demam berdarah dengue dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan
larvasida, kegiatan 3M, pengasapan, maupun penyemprotan dengan insektisida.
Karena penggunaan insektisida kimia banyak menimbulkan dampak negatif maka
perlu dilakukan pengendalian nyamuk Aedes aegypti L. pada stadium larva dengan
menggunakan insektisida alami. Minyak atsiri daun sirih hijau (Piper betle L.) dapat
digunakan sebagai bahan alternatif dalam pengendalian larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti
L. karena berfungsi sebagai racun kontak dan racun perut. Minyak atsiri dari sirih ini
mempunyai kekurangan, yaitu mudah menguap dan kelarutannya dalam air sangat
rendah. Untuk itulah perlu diusahakan suatu cara untuk menanggulangi permasalahan
tersebut. Salah satunya adalah dengan cara mikroenkapsulasi. Tujuan penelitian ini
adalah untuk menentukan besarnya toksisitas mikroenkapsulat 631 minyak atsiri daun
sirih hijau (Piper betle L.) terhadap mortalitas larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti L. dan
untuk menganalisis mortalitas larva Aedes aegypty L. pada tiap-tiap konsentrasi.
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai bulan Juli sampai Agustus 2010 di
Laboratorium Zoologi Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Jember. Dalam
penelitian ini menggunakan 5 serial konsentasi yaitu 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm,
400 ppm dan 500 ppm. Rancangan percobaan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan
Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 kali ulangan.
Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa mortalitas larva nyamuk Aedes
aegypti L. selama 24 jam pada konsentrasi 100 ppm sampai 500 ppm adalah 5%,
40%, 70%, 95%, dan 100%. Sedangkan mortalitas larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti L.
selama 48 jam pada konsentrasi 100 ppm sampai 500 ppm adalah 10%, 50%, 80%,
100%, dan 100%. Analisa data menggunakan Analisis Varian (ANAVA), jika
terdapat beda nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan dengan taraf signifikasi 5%.
Untuk mengetahui hubungan variasi konsentrasi mikroenkapsulat 631 minyak atsiri
daun sirih hijau (Piper betle L.) terhadap mortalitas larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti L.
digunakan Analisis Regresi. Dan untuk mengetahui nilai LC50-24jam, LC50-48jam,
LC90-24jam, LC90-48jam dari serial konsentrasi mikroenkapsulat 631 minyak atsiri
daun sirih hijau (Piper betle L.) digunakan analisis probit.
Berdasarkan hasil dan analisis yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa
mikroenkapsulat 631 minyak atsiri daun sirih hijau (Piper betle L.) bersifat toksik
terhadap mortalitas larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti L. dengan nilai LC

This dissertation on noted pastor and author John Piper (1946- ) constitutes an early effort in the field of intellectual biography, tracing four key influences--in roughly chronological order--upon Piper's life and theology. Those with primary influence in Piper's formative years were his parents, William S. H. Piper (1919-2007) and Ruth Mohn Piper (1918-1974), who exhibited a unique combination of joyful fundamentalism. Piper's next major influence was C. S. Lewis (1898-1963), discovered during his undergraduate studies at Wheaton College, who introduced him to romantic rationalism. Piper's first teacher at Fuller Seminary was Daniel P. Fuller (1925- ), a hermeneutics professor who planted the seeds of Christian hedonism and who gave him a love for exegetical biblicism. It was during these seminary days and into his time of doctoral study that Piper discovered Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758), whose affectional Calvinism would go on to shape Piper's theology more than anyone else. Piper's three primary venues of ministerial vocation--teaching, preaching, and writing--are all examined to reveal the ways in which each of these influencers played various roles in Piper's development of Christian hedonism and his distinct contribution to a theology of the Christian life. The dissertation concludes with two applications of the foregoing analysis, exploring how Piper uses Scripture and how he appropriates church history for pastoral ends. Also included is a comprehensive bibliography of Piper's published works (1971-2015)
