Pengaruh Pijat Kaki dan Punggung Terhadap Tingkat Tekanan Darah Pada Lansia di Panti Wredha Daerah Surakarta
In elderly there is aging process that is decreased endurance to stimulation and
increased risk of a disease due to physiological changes in organs over time. The
diseases that are often found in the elderly are degenerative diseases such as
hypertension. The treatment of elderly people with hypertension generally uses
pharmacological intervention. However, long-term pharmacological
interventions may lead to drug dependence, insomnia, and dry cough. Therefore,
it is suggested that alternative non-pharmacological interventions given to the
elderly to lower blood pressure levels with foot and back massage. This study
aimed to determine the effect of foot and back massage on blood pressure in
elderly at Panti Wredha Surakarta. The object of this research is the
hypertension elderly living in Panti Wredha Surakarta with a total sample of 30
respondents. The research design used quantitative with pre and post test with
control. Analysis of data to determine correlation in this research using Paired
Samples T-Test. The value of Paired Samples T-Test obtained (p-value) of 0.001
so that (p-value) is greater than 0,05. In the pre intervention group (pre score)
most of the blood pressure levels of hypertension stage 2 and after (post score)
were mostly prehypertensive blood pressure level. There was a difference in blood pressure levels in groups before and after foot and back massage at Panti
