INTERPRETATION OF DEPOSITIONAL FACIES AND RESERVOIR ROCK QUALITY FROM BOREHOLE, LOGS, SAN ANDRES DOLOMITE, NEW MEXICO
Program year: 1985/1986Digitized from print original stored in HDRThe Permian San Andres Formation in three cored wells in the Twin Lakes and Cato fields, New Mexico is composed of five vertically stacked tidal flat sequences. An individual tidal fiat sequence consists of evaporite (anhydrite) at the top, followed by supratidal (dolomite, anhydrite and mixtures of anhydrite and dolomite) and subtidal (dolomite or limestone) at the bottom.
The core study shows that dolomite and anhydritic dolomite are the reservoir rocks. Marine and some intertidal dolomites are the most porous and permeable. Porosity is intercrystalline with or without vugs.
Comparison of lithology, porosity, Archie porosity types in the cores with sonic, density, neutron and gamma ray borehole logs shows that lithology, vuggy porosity and tidal flat sequence may be determined from log response alone in the San Andres rocks. Vuggy porosity can be estimated from the reponses of the sonic log compared with that of the density or neutron log. Vuggy dolomites will have an Archie m (cementation exponent) value higher than 2. Calculation of water saturation will be too low and oil and gas calculations too high if the standard value of m = 2 is used in calculations in vuggy intervals

Transport in tourism cities: beyond the functional and towards an experiential approach
Global urban tourism destinations such as Barcelona and Venice illustrate this well, as tourism-driven demand for urban public transport has resulted in negative impacts for local residents in the form of general overcrowding and even saturation in some transport routes. All in all, transport has an impact on several different "life satisfaction domains", which affect tourists as much as local residents. This chapter analyzes the multi-fold relationships between urban transport, tourism and wellness. It starts with an overview of the historical links between transport and tourism. For instance, in Venice, the pressures from tourists on local services, including public transport, have led to a decline in the quality of life of local residents, which has manifested itself in saturated transport services, overcrowding and growing air pollution. It is concluded that transport services can be interpreted as an active contributor to every domain affecting the quality of life of local residents and tourists alike
Jüri Okas’ ‘specific objects’: diverging discourses in Estonian Art in the 1970s.
Previously in the University eprints HAIRST pilot service at http://eprints.st-andrews.ac.uk/archive/00000367/Article 3 of 6 in issue devoted to the visual culture of the Scandinavian and Baltic region. This article will look at the early works of Estonian architect and artist Jüri Okas and will try to work between diverging languages and interpretations, reading works by Okas against the background of Anglo-american conceptualism and minimalism of the same period. The first part of the paper will analyse a print by Jüri Okas that paraphrases works by the American artist Donald Judd and will try to show how Okas’ concept of minimalism differed from the Western one and the reasons behind it. The second part of the paper will focus on a conceptual book by Jüri Okas, consisting of a series of photographs of everyday and banal architectural objects, and compare it to Rober Venturi’s book on Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture. Finally, a comparison will be made with works of Robert Smithson in the context of concepts of waste, excess and the remainders of industrial civilisationPostprin
