Anderson recounts her discovery of and entry into the emerging ethnomusicology program at UCLA, her fieldwork in Uganda, and her subsequent hiring by the University in 1968. She also notes the changes she has witnessed in the field of ethnomusicology and the School of Music throughout her time there, including prominent topics of study, student and faculty turmoil, and curriculum reformatting. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the School of Music 1994 Seminar Oral History Project within the University Archives’ Oral History Collection
