    <i>Curvimonus</i> Viraktamath & Anantha Murthy <p> <i>Curvimonus</i> Viraktamath & Anantha Murthy 1999: 40. Type species <i>Curvimonus gajadantha</i> Viraktamath & Anantha Murthy, type by original designation.</p> <p>Medium sized leafhoppers, 6.00–7.00 mm long. In life greenish with red stripes. Vertex anteriorly triangularly produced; apical half with a triangular depression, transition between vertex and face angular with anterior carina. Fronto­clypeus basally widened, approximately three times as long as wide near clypellus. Clypellus parallel­sided, about 0.33 as long as frontoclypeus, not exceeding genal curve. Ocelli on anterior margin, contiguous with eyes. Pronotum more than twice as broad as long, shorter than vertex, lateral margin carinate, caudal margin slightly concave. Front wings about four times as long as wide; apices obliquely truncate; inner anteapical cell basally open. Arrangement of spines on hind tibia R1 21±2, R2 11±1, R3 18±2. Hind basitarsus with three platellae.</p> <p>Male pygophore lobe caudally produced into a process, basally with membranous lobe on dorsal margin. Anal segment strongly sclerotized and pigmented. Subgenital plates and valve completely fused, forming a median quadrangular plate, with lateral margin multiseriate setae. Style stout with a well­developed preapical lobe, apophysis short. Connective Y­shaped, with apices of arms touching each other. Aedeagus simple, dorsally strongly curved, articulated with connective. Gonopore subapical, dorsal apodeme welldeveloped.</p> <p>Caudal margin of female seventh sternum with a median distinct lobe. Valvifer I three times as long as wide in ventral aspect. Valvula I very broad at base, denticulate area of valvula II occupies distal half, apex acute, devoid of denticles.</p> <p> <i>Remarks:</i> The genus shares the character of fused subgenital plates and valve with the genera <i>Va rt at o pa</i> and <i>Xenovarta</i> (see below); it differs from them in having clawlike apophysis of style that lacks transverse rugae, in addition to the male pygophore having a membranous process as in <i>Va rt a</i>.</p> <p> A single Indian species, <i>Curvimonus gajadantha</i> Viraktamath and Anantha Murthy, represents this genus.</p>Published as part of <i>Viraktamath, C. Hishimonus knightiella Viraktamath & Anantha Murthy, 2014:107 (n.nov. pro H. apricus Knight 1970, nec H. apricus (Melichar 1903) Hishimonus knightiellus Viraktamath & Murthy 2014: Du & Dai 2019: 10-11 Head, pronotum and scutellum yellow with green tinge (Fig. 10). Vertex with two small light brown spots near apex, two squarish light brown patches one on either side of coronal sulcus. Pronotum greenish brown, mottled with dark brown patches. Face pale yellow (Fig. 12). Forewings creamy white with pale brown spots between veins, distal half of apical cells more darkly mottled; median spot well defined with pale brown margin (Fig. 10-11). Male genitalia: Pygofer (Fig. 13) laterally longer than wide, macrosetae confined to conically round posterior lobe. Valve 2.04x wider than long (Fig. 14). Subgenital plates broadly rounded at base, with terminal finger like process approximately 1/3 rd of the total plate length (Fig. 19). Style approximately 3.75x as long as wide at base; preapical lobe well developed with few hair like setae, apophysis digitate (Fig. 20). Stem of connective (Fig. 15) shorter than arms. Aedeagus in lateral view (Fig. 18) curved at base with acute apex, shaft with basal processes placed between shafts; aedeagal shaft in ventral view (Fig. 17) with inner margin diverging from base in basal half and curved inwardly, rounded apically, basal processes not widely splayed, closer to each other than to shaft, about half as long as shaft, blunt end, gonopore subapical on ventral margin. Measurement. Male 3.44mm long, 1.06 mm wide across eyes. Material Examined. INDIA: 1♂, Haryana: Panchkula 365m, 30.74°N, 76.80°E, 16.iii.2016, at light, Stuti (NPC). Remarks. Hishimonus knightiellus was earlier described from Borneo, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and China (the type was not examined in the present work). It is here recorded for the first time from India (Haryana). It closely resembles H. spicans Viraktamath & Murthy but can be distinguished in having the pygofer lobe with many stout macrosetae over the dorsocaudal quarter; aedeagal basal processes not widely splayed, closer to each other than to shaft, about half as long as shaft, with blunt ends; and gonopore subapical on ventral margin (Figs 16 – 18). Green in life, but dried specimens greenish­ochraceous with red stripes on head, thorax, and front wings. Head with lateral margin red anterior to eyes, an irregular stripe along inner margins of eyes orange. Pronotum with four longitudinal reddish orange stripes. Scutellum with two orange stripes. Front wing greenish orange with a stripe on clavus and a reddish median stripe on corium terminating at about 0.75 length reddish (hatched in Fig. 2), apical area piceous with a darker spot on outer angle, extreme apex narrowly white in margined. Face with an orange stripe, rest ochraceous. Venter and legs ochraceous. Male genitalia: Pygophore longer than high, lobe with a sclerotized fingerlike process directed caudad; dorsal margin with a membranous lobe covered with a few hairlike setae. Subgenital plates fused with valve to form a median plate with two short protuberances on caudo­lateral margin, macrosetae confined to lateral area, arranged in oblique irregular rows and with a few hairlike setae on lateral margin. Style robust, apophysis broad at base, gradually narrowed to a fingerlike tip. Connective twice as long as broad at base, arms stout, stem short, broadened caudad, about as long as arms. Aedeagal shaft narrowed distally, with an acute apex, gonopore at midlength on caudal margin. Female genitalia: as in generic description. Measurements: Male 6.53 (6.40–6.57) mm long, 1.22 (1.18–1.23) mm wide across eyes and 1.43 (1.38–1.45) mm wide across pronotum. Female 6.96 (6.80 –7.00) mm long, 1.24 (1.23–1.28) mm wide across eyes and 1.48 (1.45–1.55) mm wide across pronotum. Material examined: Holotype ď, INDIA: Meghalaya: Shillong, 3.xi. 1981, S. Viraktamath (UAS). Paratypes: 1 ď, 1 Ψ, data as for holotype (UAS).
