Tuji študenti na mednarodni izmenjavi na Univerzi v Ljubljani, 2013

No full text
The survey was conducted as one of the activities of the Free University week (15-19 April 2013). The aim of the study was to compare students of the University of Ljubljana (UL) within international exchange programmes (ADP_IDNo. IZMDOM13) with foreign exchange students at UL (this survey) with respect to knowledge, skills and study conditions. The main purpose of this research is to fill a research gap in the area of monitoring international exchange in Slovenia (specifically at the UL), since none of the institutions related to the formulation or implementation of international student exchange perform collection of such data, let alone its analysis. The purpose of this database is to provide a comprehensive analysis of comparable domestic (UL) and foreign students according to their existing knowledge and skills necessary for the study and the one obtained through the study abroad, the study results and study conditions. The most ambitious goal of the research is to enable policy recommendations for improving the planning and implementation of international exchange programs (at the UL and generally in Slovenia) with the aim of raising the quality of internationalization of Slovenian higher education and at the same time the possibility of building education as a component of the country's soft power in international relations

The survey was carried out during the Free University Week (15-19 April 2013). The aim was to analyze the experience of graduates and post-graduates of the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) (University of Ljubljana) regarding their active aspirations for working abroad. The survey explores how many of them have been searching for a job abroad very actively and how many were (and are) actually employed abroad, in which countries and sectors. The survey also investigated if respondents would recommend the study at the FSS and to what extent they gained certain work-related skills during their study at the FSS. The database includes information on the study programs

Počutje in odnos do cepljenja, 2021

No full text
This is a new, expanded version of the dataset from a survey on feelings and attitudes towards vaccination during the COVID-19 pandemic conducted by an international group of independent researchers. This version in addition to data from Poland, Romania and Slovenia also includes data collected in Hungary. The purpose of the survey was to determine the well-being of the population in relation to vaccination in the studied countries and to analyse how they are related to different socio-demographic characteristics, including religiosity and political orientation. As the survey was conducted in several countries, some adjustments and harmonizations were needed to prepare a common data file. It is advised that you read the accompanying materials with additional explanations before using the data, especially the document “Description of inconsistency issues and preparation of data file«. In Hungary the survey was conducted a few weeks later than in the countries covered in the first release in 2021 titled " Feelings and attitudes towards vaccination, 2021: COVID-19 vaccination intention in Poland, Romania and Slovenia (doi.org/10.17898/ADP_POCP21_V1)". In addition to data for Hungary, the new version of the file also includes 7 new variables, namely Q22_2rr; Q28_r; Q29_r; Q11_depR; Q11_anxR; Q11_strR; Q15bothR, all of which are calculated based on the published primary variables. The exception is the variable Q15bothR, which was calculated using the new methodology (all 4 countries), while the primary variable includes data calculated using the old methodology, but only for 3 already published countries (excluding Hungary). The study in question has an updated title, authorship and supporting materials. For a description of the first publication (V1) without Hungary, see the document "Opis_V1.pdf". For ease of access, certain materials from the first version are also available within this new publication. The file is available in two versions, ie. as the SUF version (access under special conditions), that is partially anonymised and intended for use for research purposes only, and as the PUF version (standard access), which is anonymised and intended for general use in research. The answers to the open question are available in an additional file (*xlsx format), containing the answers only of Slovenian respondents

Residential renovation in Slovenia: comparison of survey and registry data

No full text
Data on residential renovations are crucial for assessing their energy efficiency and living conditions of residents. Based on the real estate register data in Slovenia, we have information about the year of construction of buildings, as well as the year of renovation of roofs, facades, windows, and installations. However, the data for the period after 2007, when the last real estate census was conducted, is incomplete. Moreover, official surveys also have very limited data on this topic. To get more detailed insights into the renovation procedures of Slovenian households, we conducted our own survey on a web panel, which provided insights into renovation characteristics not captured by existing data sources. This contribution compares survey data on renovations with registry data and attempts to evaluate the quality of survey data. The author acknowledge receiving funding from the Slovenian Research Agency for the project Using questionnaires to measure attitudes and behaviours of building users [Z5-1879] and from the European Cooperation in Science and Technology for the InnoRenew project [grant agreement #739574] under the H2020 Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation Horizon2020 Widespread-Teaming program

Underrated Innovativeness of Micro-Enterprises Compared to Small to Medium Enterprises in the Slovenian Forest-Wood Sector

No full text
Although micro-enterprises represent most of the enterprises across different sectors, they are excluded from official statistics on innovation activities. What we know about micro-enterprises is based on smaller quantitative and qualitative studies that are country- and sector-specific. To understand the innovation activities of Slovenian enterprises in the forest-wood sector, we conducted our own quantitative study in 2019 based on the Eurostat’s Community Innovation Survey (CIS) questionnaire. Based on responses from 294 enterprises, we compare how micro-enterprises and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) differ in innovation strategies, product, and process innovations, co-operation with other organisations, innovation activities, and innovations with environmental benefits. The results indicate that, in some respects, enterprises with two to nine employees are at least as innovative as small to medium enterprises, or even more so. We argue that innovation surveys should lower the employee count threshold to attain better representative insight into the innovation landscape
