    Amna Naser pursues a biomedical science major at the University of Central Florida. Currently, she conducts research focused on Crohn’s disease and its interaction with Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis. She has presented her research in seven different research conferences and received two awards for her work. She participates in many on campus organizations including the Pre-Dental Student Association, Neuroscience Alliance, American Society for Microbiology, Hearts for the Homeless and several others.     Shariah compliance offi cer of HDFC Amna, the Islamic window of Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) now holds approximately 22% of the loan portfolio of HDFC, where its total loan portfolio stands at over MVR1.4 billion (US$88.98 million). Azmeen also said that HDFC Amna is expected to dominate the market by 2020, provided that the growth level remains steady. The main reason for the growth of HDFC Amna is the increase in the number of awareness activities on Islamic finance in the Maldives that have enlightened the 100% Muslim population about the importance of using Islamic finance transactions

    The Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) of the Maldives has launched an Islamic window offering Islamic home financing facilities, registered as HDFC Amna. The establishment of an Islamic window by HDFC is an achievement for the promotion of Islamic finance in the Maldives as it is the first of its kind. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the minister for Islamic affairs, stated that it was a remarkable day in the history of Maldives as the creation of HDFC Amna was initiated with the assistance of local experts in the field of Islamic finance
