No full textThe paper deals with a central topic of the contatct between Italian and dialect varieties: the writings of illiterate people. These authors write memories of their lives and to do it, they use all the linguistic varieties they know such as dialect and a kink of Italian that is deeply interfered from dialect. In this research it will be analyzed memories of Vincenzo Rabito, Tommaso Bordonaro and Carolina Drago, who have in common to be sicilian authors without education that want to eternize theri memories through writing. We will aanlayze their choices in the use of punctuation and testuality
Pirandello e le varietà del repertorio
No full textThe aim of the paper is a comparison between Pirandello’s metalinguistic reflections on the varieties of his repertoire (Italian, regional Italian, Dialect) and the use of these varieties in his autobiographic writings, focusing in particular on Lettere della formazione (1891-1898) e Saggi e Interventi, and his scientific essays on the linguistic matter (Prosa Moderna, Per la solita questione della linugua, etc.). While the relationship Italian/dialect in Pirandello’s theathrical and narrative production, even on his auto-translations from Italian to Sicilian and vice-versa, is well known, the Pirandello’s linguistic autobiography is less studied, especially to discover his level of awareness on his linguistic choices and uses. For this reason, in this paper it will be payed attention specifically on this less known aspect in his writings, to verify the correspondences between the style varieties of his writing and his deep perception of his multilingualism and the role of dialect evolving from speech code to expressive code

No full textIn questo contributo si metteranno a fuoco alcune caratteristiche della comprensione a partire dalle pagine di alcuni scritti di De Mauro, poi si rifletterà su quanto viene espresso in merito alla comprensione nel primo ciclo della formazione della scuola nelle Indicazioni (2012) e nel Quadro di riferimento della prova di italiano (Invalsi, 2013), infine si porteranno alcuni dati relativi ai risultati dei quesiti sulla comprensione delle
prove Invalsi e ci soffermerà brevemente su una sperimentazione condotta in un Istituto Comprensivo della provincia di Palermo che, pur non avendo nessuna rilevanza di tipo quantitativo, ci permette di avanzare qualche considerazione in relazione a ciò che viene fatto a scuola per lo sviluppo della comprensione dei testi scritti, alle possibili attività da svolgere in classe e all’attualità che le letture di De Mauro possono avere anche per gli insegnanti di oggi e di domani

No full textStarting from the data collected for Linguistic Atlas of Sicily (translation questionnaire, speech, ethnotexts) we propose a description of the Time and Aspect system of the varieties of contemporary Sicilian and regional Italian of Sicily. In particular, the expression of temporality is examined both in relation to the narration of past events and the existence of a Future Tense in Sicilian. The expression of Aspect is examinated through the use of synthetic and periphrastic structures. Without pretension of exhaustiveness, the description returns the uses of the speakers differentiated by age, level of education and language of first socialization and contributes to delineate a framework of Time and Aspect system of contemporary Sicily
