The future of our personal digital memories: it’s time to start thinking about it
This paper deals with the issue of personal digital archives, reflecting on the consequences that digital technology will have on this kind of archives and trying to imagine what their
future may be. The author is researching the issue about records media. In the past in personal archives there were mainly analogue documents (mostly paper), in present time we can find documents recorded on storage media such as floppy disks, optical media, USB sticks, hard disks (some of which are already obsolete and difficult to read). An increasing part of those documents are stored on cloud services (like Dropbox or Gdrive) whose access is protected by authentication methods and usually nobody shares their credentials with other people. The author is researching the following questions: in ten or twenty years or more, will we still be able to access these archives? What future awaits them? Will personal archives still exist? In this paper he is trying to answer how to address these issues
Il formato PDF/A per la conservazione a lungo termine dei documenti
The article analyses the PDF/A format with the specific aim of identifying its strenght and its weakness for digital preservation. The author described the PDF/A standardization process, the levels of compliance, the file creation and validation and its relevance for the requirements in the field of digital preservation

Дематериализация административных процессов в отношении документов и не только: проект модификации документооборота в Университете в г. Удине [Dematerialising administrative procedures and not only documents: the project for the re-engineering of document flows of the University of Udine]
For several years, one of the most common terms in the government world is “digitization”, and this concept is often used as a synonym for the word “dematerialization”. The report is conceptually divided into two parts. The first examines the problems of simplification and dematerialization of administrative processes, showing that not only the dematerialization of documentation leads to concrete and tangible results, as stated in the example presented in the second part, which is so paradoxically widespread in the public sector. The author analyzes the errors that usually occur at the initial stage of the project to simplify and dematerialize documents within the framework of the legal framework that was put into practice in August 2016 in Italy with special reference to the expression “goodbye, paper”. The second part of the report presents a project to simplify and dematerialize the processes of preparing and signing management documentation for the rector and executive officers of a university in Udine (Italy), the results of which have been successful due to the use of a document management system integrated into a management information system of documents

Artificial intelligence as a key to the valorisation and conservation of cultural heritage: an interdisciplinary approach
Artificial Intelligence is evolving very rapidly and is transforming multiple sectors of society, as well as our daily life. It promises to revolutionise also the cultural heritage sector, with results that are largely yet to be discovered and that we may not even be able to imagine yet. It is therefore important to explore and understand how it can affect the field of cultural heritage and how we can make the most of this technology to preserve, promote and enrich it. Furthermore, it is essential to use this technology responsibly, addressing ethical challenges and working to ensure that cultural heritage becomes truly accessible to all. Only through an interdisciplinary
approach and collaboration between cultural and academic institutions, scientists, developers and the public can we enhance and preserve our cultural heritage to make it available for future generations

La certificazione dei depositi digitali: il Data Seal of Approval
In recent years, it has become increasingly common to entrust records to digital repositories; this assumes an implicit confidence in the repositories reliability, and therefore is urgent to identify the criteria on which to evaluate them. The Data Seal of Approval is a set of sixteen criteria that can be used to ensure that archived data can still be found, understood and used in the future. It is a basic level of certification but it is very useful to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the deposit; in any case, it constitutes a solid basis for further certification of compliance to ISO 16363 or DIN 31644. The aim of this article is to provide an overview of Data Seal of Approval in the wider context of digital repositories' certification.
Architecture, engineering and design archives in the digital era: state of the art, challenges and future perspectives
The purpose of this article is to reflect on the transformation that has occurred in architecture, engineering, and design archives over the last thirty years, during which time the production of digital documents has increased more than exponentially. By now, computers have completely replaced drawing boards for CAD (Computer Aided Design), and it is standard practice for preparatory sketches, technical plans, three-dimensional models, prototypes, reports, presentations, photographs, specifications, contracts, administrative documents, but also photographs, sound and audiovisual recordings, and, more broadly, all documents to be produced by computer. This transformation has profoundly modified the methods architects, engineers and designers use for creating, organizing, managing, archiving, and even communicating their archives. Unfortunately, awareness of the fragility of the documents created in the digital era remains low. What are the issues that this analog-to-digital transition presents? What are the prospects for the archives of architects, engineers and designers? How can archivists help? This article will attempt to provide some answers to these questions
