    This was analysis of data from children aged 2 to 59months admitted at Kilifi County hospital from 2007 to 2015 and linked with Kilifi Health and Demographic Surveillance System (KHDSS). Children were included in this study if they were admitted with diarrheal disease. The aim of this data analysis was to evaluate estimate inpatient and 1-year post-discharge mortality and to describe risk factors for an increased risk of death.     The data was generated using a mixed methods observational study of breastfeeding in rural Kenyan mothers. Fifty mothers with newborns, identified by nurses and community health workers, were asked questions about their experiences of breastfeeding and who they had sought or received advice from on breastfeeding. Focus group discussions, one with community health workers, and four each with mothers and their named advisers were held. Data collected includes: demographic characteristics; current infant feeding practices, including breastfeeding initiation and challenges; and key advisers on breastfeeding problems. </p
