CAROTIDNet: A Novel Carotid Symptomatic/Asymptomatic Plaque Detection System Using CNN-Based Tangent Optimization Algorithm in B-Mode Ultrasound Images
Deep learning methods have shown promise for automated medical image analysis tasks. However, class imbalance is a common challenge that can negatively impact model performance, especially for tasks with minority classes that are clinically significant. This study aims to address this challenge through a novel hyperparameter optimization technique for training convolutional neural networks on imbalanced data. We developed a custom Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture and introduced a Tangent Optimization Algorithm (TOA) based on the trigonometric properties of the tangent function. The TOA optimizes hyperparameters during training without requiring data preprocessing or augmentation steps. We applied our approach to classifying B-mode ultrasound carotid artery plaque images as symptomatic or asymptomatic using a dataset with significant class imbalance. On k-fold cross-validation, our method achieved an average accuracy of 98.82%, a sensitivity of 99.41%, and a specificity of 95.74%. The proposed optimization technique provides a computationally efficient and interpretable solution for training deep learning models on unbalanced medical image datasets
Business plan
Teoretická část se věnuje vymezení podnikání, právních forem podnikání, popisu struktury podnikatelského plánu, popisu Canvas modelů a definování trendů v ubytování v České republice. The aim of the thesis is to develop a business plan for a tiny house accommodation project in a meadow near Pacov in South Bohemia and subsequently assess its viability and potential. The thesis is divided into four parts. The theoretical part is devoted to the definition of business, legal forms of business, description of the structure of the business plan, description of Canvas models and definition of trends in accommodation in the Czech Republic. This is followed by a methodological part focused on the method of data collection used. The next part contains a questionnaire survey and the presentation of its results. A total of 544 respondents participated in the questionnaire survey and provided a number of stimulating findings that helped the author in creation of the business plan. This is followed by a practical part dedicated to the business plan itself. The outcome of the thesis is an evaluation of the developed business plan and determination of its viability
Board-level gender diversity in Czech companies
This thesis explores the relationship between board gender diversity and financial performance in Czech companies. The literature review discusses studies from Europe, America, and Asia. Although gender representation on corporate boards has improved internationally, women remain significantly underrepresented, and this trend persists in Czech companies as well. The author uses a quantitative approach to analyze data from 100 largest Czech companies across five key sectors (industry, trade and hospitality, information and communication, construction, and finance and insurance) over four years (2020-2023). Linear regression analysis was used to examine the relationship between the percentage of women on boards and two financial performance indicators: return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE). The research also distinguishes between Czech-owned firms and Czech subsidiaries of foreign companies to assess the potential impact of ownership structure. The main findings confirm that female representation on corporate boards in Czech companies remains low. Furthermore, the results suggest that, in most cases, there is no statistically significant correlation between board gender diversity and ROA or ROE. These findings align with some prior studies conducted in the Czech Republic, which indicate that a higher proportion of women on boards does not automatically lead to better financial outcomes, but neither does it negatively affect performance. This thesis explores the relationship between board gender diversity and financial performance in Czech companies. Human bombing - a religious act
The issue of human bombing, which is popularly known as suicide bombing has become important in the Western world since the 9/11 and 7/7 attacks. Since then the issue of human bombing has become important to academia, the media, and security experts. This interest has resulted in much literature attempting to explain why human bombings take place and what motivates the bombers; for instance, the works of Gambetta (2006); Pape (2006); Merari (2010); Hafez (2006, 2007); Wright (2007); Bloom (2005, 2010); Friedman (2005); and Khosrokhavar (2005).Publisher PD

The insights gained from the previous analyses are presented through a SWOT analysis, and based on its results, strategic recommendations are provided that the school can utilize in its future strategy. Based on the results of the SWOT analysis, the most significant threats to the school are selected, and scenarios for the school's future financial plans are created.Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem strategické analýzy soukromé střední školy XYZ. Cílem práce je zhodnotit školu XYZ z hlediska strategické analýzy a identifikovat její silné a slabé stránky.
Financial analysis and valuation of the company Lemo Services a.s.
This thesis deals with the financial analysis and valuation of Lemo Services a.s. For this purpose, it uses classical methods of financial analysis and the DCF valuation method. The first chapter deals with the description of the theoretical concepts used in the thesis. The second then describes the methodology on the basis of which this thesis was developed. The subsequent section consists of the financial analysis itself, which is conducted using tools such as horizontal and vertical analysis, net working capital analysis, ratio analysis and Du Pont decomposition, and then the valuation of the business, which is carried out using the DCF method and supplemented by sensitivity analysis. The paper concludes with a conclusion that summarizes all the findings and implications. Finally, recommendations are made to the company on the way forward.
