THE FINANCIAL EQUILIBRIUM AND COMPETITIVENESS WITHIN AGRICULTURAL HOLDINGS

    No full text
The paper refers to traditional methods of appreciating the financial equilibriumof the agricultural company, methods based on the study of the company’s financialstatements. As far as financial equilibrium is concerned, we consider that there’s no specificindicator to be analyzed in order to appreciate financial equilibrium due to differentperception the stakeholders have on the enterprise equilibrium. In real life we often see thesame indicator calculated differently according to the objective pursued by the analyst. Thispaper shows the calculation method of the static financial equilibrium indicators, theevolution and the factors leading to the alteration of these indicators, their financialmanagement. It also determines financial equilibrium by financing rates method and assessesfinancial equilibrium using profitableness rates for agricultural holding companies. Itconcludes with the specific factors that affect the financial equilibrium in agriculturalholdings.financial equilibrium, competitiveness, agricultural holdings, indicator

Laser use in endodontic for increase the adhesion of root canal filling a synchrotron radiation micro tomography study

    No full text
The aim of the present paper is to explore, through a high-resolution synchrotron radiation-based micro computed tomography experiment, the efficiency of the Er:YAG laser involvement in the debridement of the root canal of pathologic teeth, applied after the chemo-mechanical treatment of the canal. The adhesion quality of root canal filling is the consequence of the root canal cleaning and shaping, thus preventing the leakage. Twelve extracted single-rooted teeth were considered. The first 5 mm of the roots, corresponding to the apical region of the teeth, were initially investigated through high-resolution synchrotron radiation phasecontrast micro computed tomography. Afterwards, a chemo-mechanical endodontic treatment was performed and the same region of the teeth was imaged again. Finally, an Er:YAG laser with PIPS tip treatment was applied on the same teeth and a last tomographic scan was done. The chemo-mechanical treatment properly removed the necrotic tissue only in the upper part of the apical area of root canal, but tissue debris were found in the lower and partially also in the medium and upper part of the apical region, especially when the apical area exhibited a larger curvature. The laser treatment applied afterwards gave good results in terms of removing the debris from the apical area of root canal, mainly when they remained in the main canal. The present study proves the capability of Er:YAG with PIPS tips laser treatment to enhance the removing of tissue debris from the apical region of root canals after a chemo-mechanical treatment. The high-resolution synchrotron radiationbased phase contrast micro computed tomography is the most powerful tool for a non-destructive 3D investigation method of the root canal morphology analysis and a proper characterization technique for the assessment of the endodontic treatment

Technical Analysis and Stochastic Properties of Exchange Rate Movements: Empirical Evidence from the Romanian Currency Market

Romanian currency market considering the episodic character of linear and/or nonlinear dependencies, between 1999 and 2008. The main conclusion is that profitability of moving average strategies is not constant over time and that is mainly due to linear and nonlinear episodic dependencies. The trading rule profits did not declined over time in the case of the Romanian currency market. Exploring the causes of profitability, it was found that it was closely related to the intensity of manifestation of episodic linear and nonlinear dependencies, the state of the market, and it was not the result of a time varying risk premium. The empirical results are consistent with the Adaptive Markets Hypothesis (Lo, 2004), but not with the Efficient Market Hypothesis.technical analysis, exchange rate, random walk, episodic dependencies, bicorrelation test

CULTURAL TIGHTNESS-LOOSENESS AND STOCK MARKET INTEGRATION

    No full text
This study examines the relationship between Cultural Tightness-Looseness (CTL) and stock market integration, focusing on a sample of 36 markets from 2004 to 2022. The analysis demonstrates that “loose” cultures, characterized by greater social flexibility, exhibit higher levels of financial integration with the global market. This relationship remains robust after controlling for alternative cultural determinants, such as genetic distance and Hofstede’s dimensions. Additionally, the study investigates CTL’s moderating effect on the relationship between global uncertainty and stock market integration. The findings reveal that in “loose” countries, the impact of global uncertainty on integration is less pronounced, suggesting a buffering effect. The results, validated through alternative specifications and robustness tests, extend the literature by identifying CTL as a unique cultural determinant of financial integration, distinct from long-term cultural barriers like genetic distance. These insights have implications for understanding market behavior under varying cultural and uncertainty conditions. JEL Classifications: F15; F36; G15; O5

Sudden Changes in Volatility - the Case of the Five Financial Investment Companies in Romania

    No full text
AbstractThis paper studies the sudden changes in volatility of the five most traded shares on the Bucharest Stock Exchange Financial Investment Companies, by using the ICSS algorithm proposed by Inclan and Tiao (1994). Events leading to unexpected changes in variance are predominantly local ones; the only significant global event, with negative influence on the volatility regime is the evolution of foreign markets in 2008-2009, following the global financial crisis. In terms of persistence in volatility, it is found that the false long memory effect is gone when the dummy variables associated to events that have caused sudden changes in volatility are incorporated in the GARCH model

The Romanian Greek-Catholic Church and the Bishop Iuliu Hirțea under the Communist Regime. The present paper enrolls in the series of documentary restitution of the recent history, particularly focusing on the destiny of the Greek-Catholic Episcopacy of Oradea, taken on the 28th of July 1949 by the priest and teacher Iuliu Hirțea. Amongst Romania’s most recent personalities, the name of the bishop Iuliu Hirțea has its well-deserved place due to his exemplary life that he has chosen to put into the service of the Greek-Catholic Church. Together with the bishops Ioan Ploscaru (1911-1998), Ioan Chertes (1911-1992), Tit Liviu Chinezu (1904-1955), Ioan Dragomir (1905-1985) and Alexandru Todea (1912-2002), Iuliu Hirțea belongs to the second generation of martyr bishops called to serve the Greek-Catholic Church from Romania in the time of the communist regime.
