T cell trafficking in human chronic inflammatory diseases
Summary: Circulating T cells, which migrate from the periphery to sites of tissue inflammation, play a crucial role in the development of various chronic inflammatory conditions. Recent research has highlighted subsets of tissue-resident T cells that acquire migratory capabilities and re-enter circulation, referred to here as “recirculating T cells.” In this review, we examine recent advancements in understanding the biology of T cell trafficking in diseases where T cell infiltration is pivotal, such as multiple sclerosis and inflammatory bowel diseases, as well as in metabolic disorders where the role of T cell migration is less understood. Additionally, we discuss current insights into therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating T cell circulation across tissues and the application of state-of-the-art technologies for studying recirculation in humans. This review underscores the significance of investigating T trafficking as a novel potential target for therapeutic interventions across a spectrum of human chronic inflammatory diseases
E-cigarettes and health: segmentation of risk awareness with latent class analysis
Electronic cigarette (e-cig) use, especially among young people, has become
widespread. The aim of this study was to use Latent Class Analysis (LCA) to
identify and categorize distinct groups of individuals based on their awareness of
the health risks and characteristics of e-cigs. We administered a questionnaire
to 83 participants, with an average age of 27.22 years, that included 83 questions
on different aspects of e-cigs, including composition, health effects and risk
perceptions. Only 23 questions were considered suitable for analysis. We found
that the probability of belonging to the ‘Low awareness’ class is higher than the
‘High awareness’ class. We observed that there is a distinction between subjects
with Low and High awareness about the risks of e-cigs, this is observed as the
response probability of the ‘High Awareness’ class is greater than that of the ‘Low
Awareness’ class. Among those who were surveyed, only 55.4% had a high
awareness of the risks of e-cig
Digital Health Adoption in Pediatric Respiratory Care in Italy: A National Survey and Machine Learning-Based Clustering Analysis
The integration of digital health technologies into pediatric respiratory care is growing, yet patterns of adoption and clinician readiness remain poorly understood. This study explores the integration of digital technologies in pediatric respiratory care through the first nationwide survey officially supported by the Italian Pediatric Respiratory Society (IPRS/SIMRI). Conducted in January 2025, the survey collected responses from 132 clinicians and aimed to identify distinct profiles based on digital technology use, competencies, and perceived barriers. Using Random Forest analysis and t-distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding, two main clusters emerged: “Users” (76.5%), primarily younger professionals working in tertiary settings and managing complex respiratory conditions, and “Non-Users” (23.5%), mainly older clinicians in primary or secondary care with no adoption of digital tools. The most commonly used technologies included electronic health records, telemedicine, and portable spirometry. Barriers reported by Users included lack of resources, high costs, and system complexity, despite a generally high level of digital skills. These findings provide a unique perspective on the current state of digital readiness and clinical integration in pediatric respiratory medicine. This nation-wide survey is among the first to explore digital health adoption in pediatric respiratory care using machine learning techniques for pattern identification. Despite the limitations inherent to its cross-sectional design and possible self-selection bias, the study establishes a valuable foundation for developing targeted educational strategies, guiding health policy, and informing future longitudinal research
Evidenze sommerse e reperti emergenti.
Covering the tree-lined street coasting the southern shore of the river Garigliano, it is possible to re-discover the ruins of the ancient Turris ad mare, built in the second half the X century by the longobard prince Pandolfo Capodiferro to defend the territory from the Saracens. The rests of the ancient tower, offended by the insults of the time, tell about the history of a territory, the coast of the Litorale Domitio, systematically and violently attacked by the Saracens. The indelible signs of the frequency of Saracen raids stay graven on the territory as numerous coastal towers of defense and control built up, in Terra di Lavoro as in every frontier region, during the medieval period. The lacerates of the look-out tower, partly concealed by the uncultivated vegetation and partly submerged by the waters of the river, are fragments of a material patrimony - the coastal and inside fortifications - guarded in the history of the landscape domitio, fragile spies installed by the time that the recorder/archaeologist is able to perceive with his traditum of culture, education, experience, memory and to move to the multicriteri@ sketch, which, conjugating the multidimensional approach and the wise use of digital technologies, realizes the synthesis of all knowledge processes

Asthma Prediction Tool in Preschool Children: Evidence from Predictive Performance Comparison by Using Innovative Statistical Approach
This study aims to develop a non-invasive tool for early asthma diagnosis in preschool children. The tool leverages co-morbidities, environmental factors, and socio-economic determinants. The research compares Traditional Statistical Models, Machine Learning Techniques, and Deep Neural Networks to assess the predictive capabilities of various models against the Leicester tool, which is used as a benchmark. The study’s results, evaluated on accuracy and AUC metrics, indicate that the proposed tool outperforms the Leicester model across all applied models. This research highlights the potential of integrating diverse variables for asthma prediction, suggesting directions for future enhancements and underscoring the need for comprehensive evaluations to validate these findings
The Compendio de le Istorie del Regno di Napoli by Pandolfo Collenuccio (published posthumously in 1539) is the first complete historical reconstruction of the Kingdom. Despite its importance, there are few studies on its sources: they can help us to understand the working method and the author’s ideas.
