Despite the criticism expressed by its first editor (Antonio Rocchi), the anonymous “iambic” canon for 1 January (feasts of the Circumcision of the Lord and of Basil of Caesarea) seems to be one of the best Byzantine liturgical hymns written in dodecasyllables. In this paper, after dealing with the manuscript tradition of the canon (of which Rocchi knew only one defective witness), the author analyzes its refined tetrastich acrostic, consisting in a couple of elegiac distichs formed by the initials of all the lines of the hymn, and discusses its uncertain authorship
Status quaestionis sui Sinassari italogreci
ENG: reasoned list of italo-greek Synaxaria identified so far (some of which "discovered" by the author) belonging to the recensiones B*, C* and F* of the Constantinopolitan liturgical book, with the proposal of an innovative hypothesis for the reconstruction of its penetration in Southern Italy. The author gives a brief paleographic and textual description of all the witnesses taken into account
Canoni «giambici» d’epoca bizantina e postbizantina.
In the first part of the paper, the author analyses the Sicilian reception of the rare innographical genre in classical style represented by the canons in Byzantine dodecasyllables, which were composed particularly by Theophanes (of Sicily?), Methodios of Syracuse, Eugenios of Palermo; instead, the second part is dedicated to the isolated, but interesting, production of «iambic» canons in post-Byzantine era at the hands of Manuel Korinthios, Nicholas Mavrocordatos, George Chrysogonos Trapezountios, Gerasimos Ioannoulis, John Hierosolymos, Antonio Rocchi
Lo στρατοπεδάρχης Μουσιλίκης nella Vita Ιgnatii di Niceta David Paflagone
The article deals with the “strategos” of Sicily Mousilikes, protagonist of one of the miracula post mortem reported in the Life of the Constantinopolitan patriarch Ignatius ascribed to Niketas-David Paphlagon. The author of this article critically analyzes the assimilation, first affirmed by Michele Amari, between the above episode and a historical event which is mentioned only in an Arab source, reconstructing the career of the homonymous historical figure, who is mentioned in documentary and sigillographic sources: he suggests that this particular episode of the Ignatian Bios may be the result of a conscious slight distortion of an historical event by Niketas-David Paphlagon for his own ideological purposes
Crypt. Ζ.α.XXIX
After describing the second codicological unit of the MS Crypt. Ζ.α.XXIX / gr. 55 in which the collection of the poems by Christopher Mitylenaios has been handed down to us, the author analyzes the incomplete text of the epigram 70, consisting of the epitaph dedicated to the σεβαστή Maria, of which he proposes a new edition and interpretation, and discusses the possibilities of identifying the female dedicatee of the poem
OPEN INNOVATION MODEL AND OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE: THE SOURCES OF INCREASING RETURNS
This article investigates increasing returns in OSS in the form of two-way positive feedbacks between different product releases. Our aim is to provide the first evidence for the ability of for-profit firms to create self-sustaining circles of positive externalities that could assure the long-term sustainability of the OSS model
Vat. gr. 1613.Analytical study (philological and paleographic) of the manuscript witnesses (the author adds the Vatican codices Barb. gr. 358 and Vat gr. 2046 to those previously known), which hand down the winter semester of one of the earliest recensiones of the Synaxarion of Constantinople, the so-called B * recensio. This study aims to investigate the existing relations between these witnesses and the founder of the recensio, i.e. the famous illuminated book realized for Basil II "the Bulgar-slayer " handed on by the manuscript Vat gr. 1613
Educational Robotics for Inclusive Design
This research stems from the need to prepare future teachers to design digital inclusive teaching. The contribution thus presents a distance training course on Coding and Educational Robotics (ER) for pre-service support teachers (PSSTs). The aim was not only to enhance PSSTs’ digital skills but mainly to foster their ability to design for all, using technologies in an inclusive perspective. Trainers supported them without offering predefined work packages. They stimulated PPSTs to become experimenters and researchers to identify functional paths for the introduction of coding-ER in their future curricular teaching. We investigated the evolution of PSSTs’ basic knowledge and self-confidence on coding-ER tools and methodologies and their beliefs on their introduction to PSSTs’ education. We finally detected their satisfaction with this training course. From the results, the training proved to be effective, despite the distance implementation and the lack of an embodied approach. The PSSTs showed a greater self-confidence and a higher awareness about the benefits of ER. They also demonstrated a conscious use of tools and a focus on inclusiveness in the design of learning paths. We can identify the following as success factors: the strong interaction between participants supported by the course structure; the continuous feedback from both peers and trainers; the possibility to experiment in groups and share successes and failures. These positive results have also led to a greater awareness of the role of support teachers in the complexity of classroom life
