Morphological studies on Thymus L. growing in Eskisehir
In this study, species of Thymus growing in Eskişehir have been morphologically investigated. Four Thymus species and altogether five taxa of which one is endemic were found to be native to the area. These are: T. sibthorpii Bentham, T. sipyleus Boiss., T. leucostomus Hausskn. & Velen. var. argillaceus Jalas and T. longicaulis C.Presl subsp. longicaulis var. subisophyllus (Borbas) Jalas, subsp. chaubardii (Boiss. & Heldr. ex Reichb. fil) Jalas var. chaubardii. T. leucostomus is an endemic species to Turkey. In morphological studies, detailed descriptions of the species and characteristic features are given. General appearance of plants, leaf, bract, flower, calyx, corolla and fruit shapes have also presented. All species were gynodioecious. Our findings abaut T. sibthorpii and T. sipyleus are contradict those of Jalas in Flora of Turkey. It is apparent that taxonomic studies of these species should still be persued further. T. longicaulis subsp. chaubardii var. chaubardii is a new record for the B3 square. Additionally, T. sipyleus and T. longicaulis subsp. longicaulis var. subisophyllus has been collected in the vicinity of Eskişehir for the first time compared to the records in Flora of Turkey. T. leucostomus var. argillaceus has been observed to be the most widespread species in Eskişhir
Türkiye Calamintha Miller (Lamiaceae) cinsi üzerine taksonomik ve morfolojik bir çalışma
Türkiye Florası’nda Calamintha Miller (Lamiaceae) cinsi 6’sı endemik olmak üzere 9 tür ve 13 takson ile temsil edilmektedir. Bu çalışmada Calamintha cinsine ait 13 takson sistematik ve morfolojik yönden incelenmiş, birbirleriyle olan yakınlık dereceleri saptanmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışılan taksonlar şunlardır: [Calamintha grandiflora (L.) Moench, C. betulifolia Boiss. & Ball, C. tauricola P. H. Davis (end.), C. pamphylica Boiss. & Heldr. subsp. pamphylica, C. pamphylica subsp. davisii (Quezel & Contandr.) Davis (end.), C. pamphylica subsp. alanyense S. Alan & A. Ocak (end.), C. piperelloides Stapf (end), C. sylvatica Bromf. subsp. sylvatica, C. sylvatica subsp. ascendens (Jordan) P. W. Ball, C. nepeta (L.) Savi subsp. nepeta, C. nepeta subsp. glandulosa (Req.) P. W. Ball, Calamintha incana (Sm.) Boiss., Calamintha caroli-henricana Kit Tan & Sorger]. Morfolojik çalışmalarda türlerin tanımları verilip, bitkilerin genel görünüsleri, yaprak, brakte, çiçek, kaliks, korolla ve meyve şekilleri ilave edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre Calamintha türlerinin daha geniş varyasyon sınırlarını içeren yeni ayrım anahtarı morfolojik sonuçlar bölümünde verilmiştir.The genus Calamintha Miller is represented in the Flora of Turkey by 9 species and altogether 13 taxa six of which are endemic. In this study, 13 taxa belonging to the genus Calamintha have been examined taxanomical and morphological properties and the relationships of the following species were investigated: Calamintha grandiflora (L.) Moench, C. betulifolia Boiss. & Bal., C. tauricola P. H. Davis, C. pamphylica Boiss. & Heldr. subsp. pamphylica, C. pamphylica subsp. davisii (Quezel & Contandr.) Davis (end.), C. pamphylica subsp. alanyense S. Alan & A. Ocak (end.), C. piperelloides Stapf (end.), C. sylvatica Bromf. subsp. sylvatica, C. sylvatica subsp. ascendens (Jordan) P. W. Ball, C. nepeta (L.) Savi subsp. nepeta, C. nepeta subsp. glandulosa (Req.) P. W. Ball, C. incana (Sm.) Boiss., C. caroli-henricana Kit Tan & Sorger. In morphological studies, descriptions of each taxon have been given and general appearance of plants and their, leaf, bract, flower, calyx, corolla and fruit shapes have been illustrated. According to the results, a new identification key widening the limits for Calamintha species has been prepared and presented in the section of morphological results
Calamintha pamphylica subsp alanyense (Lamiaceae), a new subspecies from South Anatolia, Turkey
WOS: 000249994500010Calamintha pamphylica Boiss. & Heldr. subsp. alanyense S. Alan & Ocak subsp. nova is described and illustrated from the northwest of Alanya (Antalya) in Turkey. It is characterized by a puberulent, densely glandular flowering stem and calyx, subbilabiate calyx divided to 1/8, lower teeth mostly longer than upper teeth, clearly serrate leaves and linear-lanceolate bracteoles. A distribution map of the new subspecies is given. Stem and calyx hairs of three subspecies of C. pamphylica are displayed in SEM photographs
Endemik Verbascum orgyale Boiss. & Heldr. türünün morfolojik, morfometrik ve anatomik özelliklerinin incelenmesi
Anadolu'da "Sığır kuyruğu" olarak adlandırılan Verbascum L.(Scrophulariaceae) cinsi, ülkemizde 194'ü endemik olmak üzere 245 tür ile temsil edilmektedir. Çiçekleri müsilaj, uçucu yağ veglikozitlertaşır. Bazı Verbascum türleri halk arasında göğüs yumuşatıcı ve balgam söktürücü olarak, adet sancısını gidermede, yatıştırıcı, romatizma ağrılarını giderici ve hayvan yaralarını tedavi etmekte kullanılmaktadır. Verbascum orgyale Boiss. & Heldr. türü Akdeniz fitocoğrafik bölgesinde yetişen ve ülkemize endemik bir türdür.Verbascum orgyale. (sığır kuyruğu) türünün morfolojik, morfometrik özellikleri ve anatomik yapısı ilk kez bu çalışmada verilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular Davis'in "Flora of Turkey" adlı eserindeki betimlemesi ile karşılaştırılmış ve tablo haline getirilmiştir. Ayrıca türün morfolojik ve anatomik yapısı fotoğraf ve çizimlerle desteklenmiştirThe genus Verbascum L. Some species' of Verbascum have some folkloric usages as expectorant, sedative and treatment of dysmenorrhoea and rheumatalgia. It was also notified the usege for healing wounds in animal care. Verbascum orgyale Boiss. & Heldr. is an endemic species in Turkey counted in Mediterranean phytogeographic region. Morphological, morphometric and anatomical properties of Verbascum orgyale Boiss. & Heldr. is described in the present study. Obtained data after investigations was compared with the data in the Davis's "Flora of Turkey" and represended in a table. Morphological, anatomical and ecological studies on Tulipa armena Boiss. var. lycica (Baker) Marais (Liliaceae)
This study presents investigations into the morphological, anatomical and ecological features of Tulipa armena Boiss. var. lycica (Baker) Marais. T. armena var. lycica, an endemic species which was collected from the Eskişehir, Alpu-Bozan plantation area and from Kunduzlar Dam and its environs. The species is a new record for Eskişehir. For morphological studies a description and illustrations of T. armena var. lycica are given. The morphological differences were compared with the Flora of Turkey. For anatomical studies, cross-sections of the root, stem and leaves and surface sections of the leaves of T. armena var. lycica are investigated for the first time. Furthermore, for ecological investigations, the chemical and physical properties of the soil are analysed. The climate of Eskişehir and other climatic features are also given
Taxonomical, morphological and anatomical studies on Lallemantia fisch. & mey [Lallemantia fisch. & mey. ci·nsi· üzeri·nde taksonomi·k, morfoloji·k ve anatomi·k araştirmalar]
The genus Lallemantia Fisch. & Mey. belongs to Lamiaceae (Labiatae) family, is represented by 3 species in Turkey: Lallemantia peltata (L.) Fisch. & Mey, L. iberica (Bieb.) Fisch. & Mey. and L. canescens (L.) Fisch. & Mey. The taxa grow in central, north, south and east Anatolia and they are element of Irano-Turanian phytogeographic region. In this study, Turkish Lallemantia species (L. peltata, L. iberica and L. canescens) were investigated morphologically and anatomically for the first time and supported with hand drawings and photographs. Morphological and anatomical properties of species were investigated in detail and also anatomical structures of the root, stem and leaf were clarified after our surveys. According to the results, L. canescens is perennial, has grey-canessent indumentum and is the tallest; leaf, bracteol, calyx, corolla sizes are also longer than other two species. L. peltata and L. iberica are the most relative species. In all taxa root anatomy was consisted of periderma the most outer layer, undilated cork tissue and phelloderma. Stem collenchyma was grouped together at the corners characteristically. Phloem and xylem were regular cylinders. Leaves of all taxa were dorsiventral and amphistomatic.
