Sustaining Progress—Investing in Adolescent Girls Amidst Global Challenges: Learnings from a donor roundtable

    No full text
The Coalition for Adolescent Girls (CAG), hosted by the Population Council, in collaboration with Akili Dada, convened a high-level donor roundtable on June 4, 2025. Against the backdrop of funding freezes, policy shifts, and widening global crises, this convening brought together funders, grassroots organizations, adolescent and youth leaders, and global experts, to reflect on emerging trends, lived experiences, and actions needed urgently to ensure adolescent girls remain at the center of global development priorities. This knowledge brief synthesizes key insights from the roundtable discussion. It underscores the critical need for long-term, flexible, and intersectional funding approaches that center adolescent girls as leaders and decision-makers, while offering practical recommendations for funders, implementers, policymakers, and partners to advance equitable, sustainable investments for adolescent girls

Is Dada one modern moment among others, part of the alternation of the old and the modern (new) that has been Europe’s artistic rhythm since the early 15th century, or is it part of the historic avant-garde of the 20th century (or, roughly, its first quarter)? It’s a serious question, because the organisers of the big Dada exhibition at the Musée National d’Art Moderne aimed to show that Dada was the biggest, if not the only genuine avant-garde of the last century; and also, because an author..

Dada à Paris : un catalyseur politique (1920-1923)

Dada : a political catalyst (1920-1923) Although the contempt for politics shown by Parisian Dadaists has been widely studied by historians, it appears that the reception of Dadaism itself in political circles has been neglected. In this article, the author examines Parisian Dada by studying a particular part of its audience, that is, men involved in French political life in the period immediately following World War I. Sorting through the political press from 1920 to 1923 gives us a greater understanding of the way in which Dada was perceived by these men ; although Dadaists seemed to ignore politicians, journalists from various political parties wrote on this movement that disturbed the artistic community. At a moment when French society was going through major changes, it appears politicians’ perceptions of Dada reveal their own fears and hopes. At the beginning of the 1920s, Dada, serving as a catalyst, crystallised political and social concerns.
