Commenting on the bright prospects for Ireland as he perceives them; having much better chances with the Free State than as a republic. 95% of Australians would not approve of a republic, and he understands that that agrees with the standpoint of the Irish hierarchy. Este volumen proporciona una visión de conjunto, plural y actualizada, de esta disciplina en español y sobre el español. Tras una presentación de los temas clásicos en sus desarrollos más recientes (actos de habla, implicaturas, significado procedimental, referencia, conectores, procesos pragmáticos, dinámica conversacional…), el libro ofrece un amplio viaje por las aplicaciones de la perspectiva pragmática a temas y problemas variados, como tipos de discursos, persuasión, identidad, cortesía, humor, ironía, interculturalidad, variación y cambio, o comunicación digital.
