With over 25.4 million refugees globally, the highest number in history, countries are forced to change how they respond to this crisis. In most cases, housing refugees in temporary camps is not sustainable over a long, and a majority of the global refugees end up living in urban areas. Since cities are starting to play an essential role in welcoming this new population, it is imperative for the planning field to understand how the built environment impacts refugee integration. Successful integration into host society is not the sole responsibility of a refugee but rather a process that involves both the refugee and the host community. This thesis investigates factors that affect refugee integration and examines how they play out spatially on a local scale through a case study of the Roxbury neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts. The research analysis and case study affirm the influence of place in the refugee experience of community and belonging. Just as displacement is a place-based trauma, refugee resettlement must be approached as a place-based intervention. This thesis highlights the role of planners by outlining the spatial implications of successful integration in addition to introducing a multidisciplinary approach that can empower refugees to not only successfully integrate but to have agency in their new homes.by Azka Mohyuddin.M.C.P.M.C.P. Pakistan and India share a history and have experienced the similar trend of Town Improvement Trusts established by the British transforming into Development Authorities. Both these forms of institutions had a similar mandate --to improve the living standards in the city through planned development. Development authorities, in particular, were envisioned to undertake comprehensive and integrated master planning in the face of rapid urbanization that its predecessor failed to do so because of its institutional set up as a Trust. In this thesis, I focus on one such urban development institution in Lahore, Pakistan, namely the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) which has come under immense criticism in recent years. In order to understand the urban sprawl of Lahore and the complementary planned development, one needs to understand the institutions that are propelling this form of urban planning. I aim to understand the unequal development in Lahore through the lens of an institutional framework.The premise of my analysis is that even though the forms of institutions that come about and the way they evolve over time are influenced by the broader political and economic trends, it is the urban development institutions that dictate what kind of policies under its purview are produced, hence affecting the urban form. I argue that LDA was a continuation of the Lahore Improvement Trust in many ways, with a supposedly more comprehensive approach to planning, and it faced similar challenges as its predecessor and failed to achieve one of the objectives this parallel institutional structure set out to achieve: providing housing for the low-income groups. In my analysis, I highlight the role of legislation and political influence on LDA's operations.     Proses Katalitik Pirolisis Untuk Cracking Bitumen Dari Asbuton Dengan Katalis Zeolit Alam - Catalytic Pyrolysis Process For Bitumen Cracking From Asbuton With Natural Zeolite As Catalyst

    Aspal Buton (Asbuton) adalah aspal alam yang terkandung dalam deposit batuan yang terdapat di pulau Buton dan sekitarnya. Dengan jumlah deposit Asbuton yang mencapai 650 juta ton, menjadikan Indonesia sebagai negara penghasil aspal alam terbesar di dunia. Selama ini asbuton hanya dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan campuran aspal, dalam bentuk asbuton halus, mikro asbuton, asbuton butir, dan asbuton yang diekstrak sebagian. Padahal bitumen dalam asbuton dapat berpotensi di cracking menjadi hidrokarbon (heavy oil) dan dapat menjadi suatu bahan bakar cair yang dapat digunakan untuk memenuhi permintaan bahan bakar. Dalam lingkup penelitian berbagai metode digunakan untuk memisahkan bitumen dari asbuton, yakni metode ekstraksi dengan pelarut organik dan modifikasi dari hot water process. Namun penelitian tentang konversi bitumen menjadi bahan bakar cair masih jarang dilakukan. Sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian tentang proses cracking bitumen dari asbuton melalui proses pirolisis dengan menggunakan katalis zeolit alam. Pada penelitian ini akan mempelajari pengaruh suhu pirolisis dan rasio katalis dengan Asbuton terhadap persentase konversi Asbuton. Presentase konversi Asbuton ditunjukkan dengan persentase yield masing-masing produk cair, produk gas, dan bitumen yang tidak terpirolisis. Pirolisis bitumen yang terkandung dalam asbuton dilakukan secara semi-continue dalam reaktor pirolisis pada kondisi vakum dengan variable suhu pirolisis sebesar 300oC, 350oC, 400oC, 450oC, dan 500oC. sedangkan zeolit klipnotilolit sebagai katalis divariasi sebesar 5%, 7%, dan 9% dari berat feed asbuton. Feed asbuton sebanyak 228 gram dicampur dengan katalis sesuai perbandingan kemudian dimasukan ke dalam reaktor pirolisis. Heater dioperasikan sesuai suhu yang diinginkan kemudian di vakum dengan menggunakan pompa vakum. Gas yang terbentuk akan dialirkan melalui kondensor yang dijaga suhunya pada 25oC. Gas yang terkondensasi (produk cair) akan tertampung dalam erlenmeyer, sedangkan gas yang tidak terkondensasi (produk gas) akan ditampung dalam kantong gas. Kemudian %yield produk masing-masing dianalisa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa metode pirolisis dapat digunakan untuk cracking bitumen yang terkandung dalam asbuton dengan kondisi terbaik untuk mendapatkan produk cair tanpa penambahan katalis sebesar 450oC dengan yield produk cair sebesar 46.154%. Zeolit alam dapat digunakan sebagai katalis untuk cracking bitumen dalam asbuton. Kenaikan persentase zeolit yang digunakan pada suhu pirolisis sebesar 450oC berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan yield produk cair. Yield produk cair tertinggi sebesar 61.531% diperoleh dalam kondisi suhu pirolisis 350oC dengan penambahan 9% katalis. ======================================================================================================================== Buton Asphalt (Asbuton), is a natural asphalt that contained in rock deposit located in Buton Island and surrounding areas. Asbuton with reserves reached 650 million tons, making Indonesia as the largest natural asphalt producing country in the world. During this time, Asbuton only be used as a mixture of bitumen, in the form of fine Asbuton, micro Asbuton, grains Asbuton, and the extracted Asbuton. Whereas, bitumen that contained in Asbuton could potentially be cracking into hydrocarbon (Heavy oil) and can be produce as a liquid fuel that can be used to meet the energy demand. Within the scope of research the various method to separate the bitumen from Asbuton such as using organic solvent and modification of hot water process. However, research on the conversion of bitumen into liquid fuel is still rare. So, it is necessary to do research about the cracking process Bitumen from Asbuton through the pyrolysis process by using natural zeolite as catalyst. On the research will study the effect of pyrolysis temperature and the mass ratio of the Asbuton with catalyst against Asbuton conversion percentage. Asbuton conversion percentage indicated by the yield percentage of each liquid and gaseous products with the addition of a catalyst or without a catalyst. Pyrolysis bitumen that contained in asbuton has been done by semi-continue method using vacuum pyrolysis reactor with operation temperature 300oC, 350oC, 400oC, 450oC, and 500oC. Zeolite Klipnotilolit as catalyze that used on this process are 5%, 7%, and 9% from total weight of asbuton. 228 gram of asbuton as a feed mixed with catalyze in accordance the desire ratio. After being mixed, asbuton and catalyze inserted into pyrolysis reactor. Then, heater set into desire temperature and turned on the vacuum pump. Gas that formed from the process will be through the condenser with temperature 25oC. Gas that condensed (liquid product) will be collected in erlenmeyer, while uncondensed gas (gas product) will be collected in gas holder. After the pyrolysis process completed, yield every product will be analyzed. From this research shown that pyrolysis method can be used to crack bitumen that contained in asbuton with best operating condition to get liquid product as much as possible by 46.154% without the addition of catalyze is using 450oC as pyrolysis temperature. Natural zeolite can be used as catalyze for this pyrolysis process. Increased the amount of catalyze that used will also increase the yield of liquid product. The biggest yield of liquid product by 61.531% reached by using 350oC as pyrolysis temperature with the addition of 9% zeolite as Cataly

    This paper contains the search for the meaning of buying and selling verses contained in Qs. al-Baqarah verse 41 and the context of its use in the Qur’an according to the mufassir's perspective, as well as the perspective of KH. Muhammad Arwani, in an effort to find answers to the assumptions of some people regarding the production of Kh-Q drinking water by PT. Buya Barokah is under the auspices of the Arwaniyyah Foundation Business Entity which is temporarily viewed by some as an act of trading verses. The author uses the maudhui thematic method as a whole verse and the interview method with zurriyyah (Family) and related people as well as observations to collect data and analyze it in order to find answers that can be accounted for. in this case the author uses analytica l descriptive method. The results of the study show that there is no element of searching for something worldly from selling Kh-Q and not like what is contained in Qs. al-Baqarah verse 41, so the author does not find any relevance between Kh-Q products and KH.
