Andagua (Peru), aerial view of agricultural terraces
"Agricultural Terraces, mostly abandoned, See Mosaic, G.R. PL IV, 1932"; "Mosaic of a section of the Andagua Valley, Peru, made up of vertical photographs taken in the arial suvey of the valley. Sixteen volcanoes have been located in this mosaic as shown on the accompanying location map. The lava flows at the left of the tributary of the Andagua River that flows through the town of Andagua appear to be much older than those at the right of this stream. The agricultural terraces, now partly abandoned appear to be all on the older lava flows. Note the two lakes at the upper edge of the mosaic formed by the damming of the Andagua River by lava flows. Scale of mosaic 1 inch to 2700 feet."Johnson-Shippee ExpeditionGrayscaleBox 44 L [14 b3] 525 No. 2,514 to [14 b3-c1] 5332 No. 35,12
