Eva Gore-Booth : an image of such politics
This is the first dedicated biography of the extraordinary Irish woman, Eva Gore-Booth. Gore-Booth rejected her aristocratic heritage choosing to live and work amongst the poorest classes in industrial Manchester. Her work on behalf of barmaids, circus acrobats, flower sellers and pit-brow lasses is traced in this book. During one impressive campaign Gore-Booth orchestrated the defeat of Winston Churchill. Gore-Booth published volumes of poetry, philosophical prose and plays, becoming a respected and prolific author of her time and part of W.B. Yeats' literary circle. The story of Gore-Booth's life is captivating. Her close bond with her sister, an iconic Irish nationalist, provides a new insight into Countess Markievicz's personal life. Gore-Booth's life story vividly traces her experiences of issues such as militant pacifism during the Great War, the case for the reprieve of Roger Casement's death sentence, sexual equality in the workplace and the struggle for Irish independence
Fiametta : a previously unpublished play
This is the first publication of "Fiametta", a five act play by the Irish poet, playwright and political activist Eva Gore-Booth. The book includes an introduction and brief synopsis of Gore-Booth's dramatic works and notes on "Fiametta". The manuscript of this previously unpublished play was discovered amongst the personal and literary papers of Gore-Booth. This is an exceptional find. It is rare indeed that an unpublished work, by a celebrated Irish author, is uncovered so many years after their death. This play is a significant contribution to the body of Eva Gore-Booth's literary work. "Fiametta" contrasts with Gore-Booth's other dramas and therefore, adds a new perspective to critical analysis of her work

“Reflective Teaching” is a term used in teacher education to convey various meanings and purposes. In this article, Cruickshank's Reflective Teaching approach to practice teaching is critiqued, strengths of the approach are acknowledged, and modifications are proposed. Gore makes comparisons between Zeichner's critical, but school-based perspective, and the more technocratic, positivistic approach of Cruickshank. The author views Cruickshank's Reflective Teaching as viable and efficacious if modifications are made in its structure to accommodate some practical, educational, and ideological concerns
Transfeminizm(y) i kapitalizm „gore”
Valencia is the author of the concept of gore capitalism based on a diagnosis of male violence as the modus operandi of capitalism in its current phase (Valencia 2010); in many parts of the world, gendered violence is one of the primary tools of capital accumulation. In this text, she relates this concept to transfeminism and argues for the liberation of masculinity from its toxic and destructive love affair with capitalism. Since no one is born a man only becomes one, he can always become differently, outside the framework set by the hegemonic pattern of masculinity. W niniejszym tekście odnosi tę koncepcje do transfeminizmu i postuluje uwolnienie męskości z toksycznego i destrukcyjnego romansu z kapitalizmem. Skoro nikt nie rodzi się mężczyzna, tylko się nim staje, to zawsze może stawać się inaczej, poza ramami wyznaczanymi przez hegemoniczny wzorzec męskości
Over-the-balloon placement of the Gore Hybrid Vascular Graft in challenging clinical conditions
This report describes a useful technique for deployment of the Gore Hybrid Vascular Graft (W. L. Gore and Associates, Flagstaff, Ariz) in difficult clinical situations that create challenges in obtaining vascular control before introducing the nitinol-reinforced section of the graft. In both arterial and venous applications, introducing the Gore Hybrid Vascular Graft over a balloon allows concurrent vascular control by inflation of the balloon and easier introduction of the device into the recipient vessel by creating a smoother transition between the leading edge of the graft and the guidewire. Examples of both arterial and venous applications of this novel technique are presented
