We sincerely express our apology for the changes in the author list in the article entitled Patorani local knowledge system in fisheries resources conservation education in Galesong District South Sulawesi. This article was published on DOI: 10.17977/um017v28i12023p52-63, with the authors list consisting of Hasriyanti, Rusdi, Alonge Titus Adeyemi, Michel E. D. Chaves, and Erman Syarif. However, Michel E. D. Chaves issue a complaint regarding his involvement during the research and paper completion. He did not agree to the inclusion of his name in the author list. We have contacted the corresponding author for confirmation. Besides, the co-author has also confirmed the mistake in the writing of one of the author’s names, Alonge Titus Adeyemi, which should be Titus Adeyemi Alonge. The corresponding author has submitted a letter of author contribution signed by Hasriyanti, Rusdi, Titus Adeyemi Alonge, and Erman Syarif. An extension of Pedersen's viscosity model for saturated black oil systems

This new model provides better estimates for oil viscosity than previously existing correlations. The model was developed from 324 sets of differential liberation data consisting of 2,232 observations. Data was gathered from a number of locations worldwide and covered a broad range of fluid compositions, pressures, and temperatures. Linear and nonparametric regression analyses were used to process and correlate the data. The new correlation, which retained most of the functional form of Pedersen's model, includes modifications that make the model more user-friendly and applicable to black oil simulator models. These modifications to Pedersen's model include use of n-decane as the reference fluid; considering the oil mixture as a single component with molecular weight and critical properties correlated to its density, which may be evaluated from correlations or experimental data; and addition of a functional dependence to the solution gas/oil ratio, formation volume factor, and gas specific gravity. Additionally, using 2,232 points, improved correlations are provided for the oil formation volume factor and the solution gas/oil ratio. This is a progression of the work of Verlade. One of the main advantages of our model is that it is linear in the parameters used for the viscosity prediction. It is therefore easier to recalibrate when needed for simple regression. We also investigated a functional relationship amongst pressure, volume, temperature (PVT) properties and a set of variables required to describe the viscosity correlation using a nonparametric regression analysis. The objective of this analysis was to determine which variables affect viscosity the most and determine the minimum number of variables needed to develop a suitable viscosity correlation. The minimum average absolute error for this analysis was 29��0.2% for the nonfitted nonparametric regression analysis obtained by using GRACE software with 42 coefficients and 13 variables. The average absolute errors obtained from our model using the linear regression analysis were much lower than those obtained from the nonparametric regression analysis obtained from GRACE

On the estimation of the black-capped vireo (Vireo atricapillus) territory density using geographic information systems technology, 1996
This study is based on a 1994 survey of the nesting and territory preferences of the black-capped vireo, a small migratory songbird, within Fort Hood, Texas. By Federal Government Order 51 FR 44808-44812 of 1987 (Tazik et al., 1992), these birds were declared an endangered species based on a series of studies by J. D. Cornelius in 1985 and 1986 (Tazik et al., 1993). In this study, it has been shown that the vireo nesting and territory preferences are not uniform across Fort Hood installation grounds, rather the preference is towards the north to northwest. The vegetation in this region consists of oak woodlands, with grassy undergrowth; the elevation is at most 260 meters above sea level; and the geology yields loose and chalky limestone. In addition, the territory intensity, ?ij(s), for each point s(x,y) in the ijth grid cell on the military installation, has been estimated. For each such grid cell, the probability of a successful territory is given by Geographic Information Systems (GIS) raster color maps of territory distribution of the vireo have been produced. These maps were overlaid on the slope, aspect, soils, elevation, vegetation, and military activities coverages. With the density estimate of nesting success and the GIS maps, territory position preferences were identified, thus, helping in the Land Management Plan for the preservation of the black-capped vireo on the Fort Hood Military Installation

Meat inspection in abbatoirs plays a fundamental role in identifying zoonotic diseases in animals slaughtered for human consumption. This study was carried out to review the current status of tuberculosis annd other diseases of public health importance in slaughtered cattle at Oko-Oba abbatoir,Lagos state over a period of four years (2004-2007). A total of 1, 154. 757 cattle were slaughtered from which 22, 073 (1.91%) HAD PATHOLOGICAL LESIONS: with 4, 734 (0.41%) and 17, 339 (1.50%) being due to tuberculosis and other diseases of public health importance respectively. The overall infection rate varied significantly with seasons of the year (p< 0.05, xsquare=25.76). similarly, the 1.50% for the non-tuberculosis diseases comprising fascioliasis (0.67%), myiasis(0.42%), dermatophilosis (0.30%) and cysticercosis (0.11%) differs significantly from the 0.41% recorded for tuberculosis (p<0.05). therefore showing more losses attributed to these other diseases. Our findings show that approximately two out of every 100 cattle slaughtered at this abbatoir pose potential health risks to the consumers in the state. Hence, the government and other stakeholders in the livestock industry need to join efforts at controlling and possibly eradicating these diseases fron the cattle population
Analgesic activity of the aqueous seed extract of <i style="">Hunteria umbellata</i> (K. Schum.) Hallier f. in rodents
698-703The analgesic effect and possible
mechanism(s) of action of 50-200 mg/kg of the aqueous seed extract of H. umbellata
(HU) were investigated in different experimental models of analgesia using the
tail flick, tail immersion, acetic acid-induced writhing tests and
formalin-induced algesia. Oral pre-treatment with 50-200 mg/kg of HU caused
significant and dose related analgesic effect in the treated rats in all the
experimental models used. This analgesia was mediated via central and
peripheral mechanisms. Overall, the results showed that HU possesses analgesic
effect which lends support to its folkloric use in the local management of
pain
