Contract enforcement, capital accumulation, and Argentina's long-run decline
Argentina has slipped from being among the ten world’s richest countries by the eve of World War I to its current position close to mid-range developing countries. Why did Argentina fall behind? We employ a structural model to investigate the extent to which the enforceability of contracts and the security of property rights, as measured by Clague et al.’s “contract intensive money” (CIM), conditioned broad capital accumulation and, subsequently, economic performance in Argentina. Our results suggest that poor contract enforcement played a significant role at the origins of Argentina’s unique experience of long-run decline.Publicad
Cell therapy with allogenic canine periodontal ligament-derived cells in periodontal regeneration of critical size defects
33 p.-4 fig.-4 tab.AIM:The objective of this in vivo experimental study to evaluate the regenerative potential of a cell therapy combining allogenic periodontal ligament-derived cells within a xenogeneic bone substitute in a similar experimental model.METHODS:In nine beagle dogs, critical size 6-mm supra-alveolar periodontal defects were created around the PIII and PIV. The resulting supra-alveolar defects were randomly treated with either 1.4 × 106 allogenic canine periodontal ligament-derived cells seeded on de-proteinized bovine bone mineral with 10% collagen (DBBM-C) (test group) or DBBM-C without cells (control group). Specimens were obtained at 3 months, and histological outcomes were studied.RESULTS:The histological analysis showed that total furcation closure occurred very seldom in both groups, being the extent of periodontal regeneration located in the apical third of the defect. The calculated amount of periodontal regeneration at the furcation area was comparable in both the test and control groups (1.93 ± 1.14 mm (17%) versus 2.35 ± 1.74 mm (22%), respectively (p = .37). Similarly, there were no significant differences in the amount of new cementum formation 4.49 ± 1.56 mm (41%) versus 4.97 ± 1.05 mm (47%), respectively (p = .45CONCLUSIONS:This experimental study was unable to demonstrate the added value of allogenic cell therapy in supra-crestal periodontal regeneration. This study was partially supported through an Osteology Foundation Advanced Research

Gaspar Sanz and the Stringing of the Italian Baroque Guitar Masters
The following research is an investigation of the baroque guitar stringing used by Spanish composer Gaspar Sanz and many of his Italian contemporaries. In contrast to previous scholarship centered on baroque guitar stringing, this paper attempts to clarify the problems inherently associated with ambiguous terminology, incorrect stringing designations, and the currently accepted baroque stringing options. The confusion and disagreement amongst modern scholars about what Sanz wrote regarding the subject of stringing has severely hindered subsequent related scholarship. As a result, it was absolutely necessary for the following research to include a historical background on Sanz, as well as his commentary on this subject, which has been translated, cautiously dissected, and explained. Additionally, this paper offers a direct challenge to the specious claim of many notable scholars that Sanz used the totally re-entrant stringing for the creation of his compositions. It was my sole intention to make this the most exhaustive research supporting the employment of upper octaves to date. This research also contains my newly proposed baroque guitar stringing options. Comparative transcriptions of original tablature from several composers including Sanz, Corbetta, Colista, Kapsperger, Granata, and Murcia have been included in order to add visual clarification of the results produced by different re-entrant stringings. Several other related issues are discussed including an examination of the original definitions of gut string names, the guitar’s close development and association with the lute and chitarrone, and a closer look at the 17th century usage of the term “unison.” Also proposed is a new right-hand technique whereby the guitar is approached as a nine (or ten) -string instrument. As part of the conclusion, I have also offered my personal instrumental set-up, showing both my current guitar’s string spacing at the nut and bridge, along with the string type and diameters that I consider a suitable compromise for performance on a modern baroque guitar replica

Personal brand is the relationship of who we are, what we do and what is perceived of us. Everything that should be oriented and aligned with specific goals, since it can have a great personal brand, but if it is well off with what we want to achieve, not having the desired effect. The job market is tremendously competitive, so getting a job or customers for your business involves competing with hundreds of people offering something similar to what you do. The personal brand and personal Marketing serves in a precise way to achieve to stand out against all those competitors and to reinforce your value as a professional. This work will consist of the creation of a personal brand focused on specific technical objectives.Sanz Del Campo, C. (2018). Estrategia para la creación de marca personal: Carlota Sanz. Simulating Demography and Human Development Dynamics
[EN] A deterministic/stochastic model in which the demographic and the well-being subsystems of a country are involved and related is presented as a way to approach human development. The demographic subsystem is a side-by-side, single-gender, age-structured population dynamic model. The well-being subsystem states the dynamics of the United Nations Hybrid Human Development Index. The model has been validated in the case of Spain and Belgium. Some simulations have been performed with the model for the case of Spain in the 2009-2020 period to determine strategies and scenarios that could increase the life expectancy at birth per gender.
