No full textThis paper discusses Aldo Giorgio Gargani's latest philosophical research. Three dimensions intertwining aesthetics are analysed: (1) the relationship between scientific patterns and aesthetic patterns; (2) the analysis of epistemic limits and their relationship with the nature of aesthetic properties; (3) the creation of conceptual alternatives such as the perception of atmospheres in art.
Lectures, conversations, personal communications provide new tools for reading the relationship between aesthetics, epistemology, and philosophy of language. The critical revision of patterns of representation and rationality in different disciplines (“hybridisation of codes”) can be understood through an aesthetic paradigm that appears to be at the core of Gargani's method of philosophical analysis

No full textThis essay examines some aspects of Thomas Bernhard’s works concerning the catastrophe of meaning, by the thought of two philosophers: Aldo Giorgio Gargani and Jacques Derrida. It is possible to escape from the ordinary procedures of criticizing the catastrophe, mostly based on language, through the device of Bernhard’s writing? With this in view, the essay inquiries the issues of the endless phrase, the repetition, the role of the other within the monologism in Bernhard’s writing, against the background of its relationship with Austrian culture. Bernhard’s writing exhausts the language of the catastrophe but, at the same time, it works as an ethical-aesthetical device capable of producing different meaning

No full textThe article sheds light on some points of convergence between Rorty’s theoretical proposal to reject systematic and foundational philosophy favoring a “post-Philosophy” and Gargani’s idea of knowledge without foundations. In particular, the article argues how Gargani’s interpretation of Rorty’s thought is in line with Gargani’s critique of universal and ahistorical rationality in favor of naturalized anthropology, expressing in a praxis that, although without foundations, is not an expression of irrationality. The last part of the article highlights some differences between Gargani and Rorty on the possibility of adopting some different facets of Heidegger’s thought
