Preface to the Second Workshop on Artificial Intelligence for Human-Machine Interaction (AIxHMI)

    No full text
The human-machine interaction (HMI) field is benefiting from the latest advances in wearable devices, sensing technologies, and artificial intelligence (AI) models. This is allowing the development of new applications in real-life, virtual and augmented environments, where AI is assuming a significant role especially considering strongly human-centered, real-time, and noisy scenarios. The main motivations and relevance of the Artificial Intelligence for Human-Machine Interaction (AIxHMI) workshop regard (i) focusing on human-centered approaches and perspectives, (ii) exploiting AI approaches to provide a better interaction between humans and machines, (iii) moving AI to pervasive technologies relying on wearable devices and portable technologies, and (iv) presenting novel AI methods and proposals that exploit heterogeneous data sources, describing the human environmental interaction in real, virtual, and augmented scenarios. Seven papers have been submitted to the second edition of AIxHMI. Out of these, six have been accepted for this volume as regular papers. Diverse fields of HMI were touched by these authors as well as by the three invited speakers

Una meccanica a orologeria. Arte Programmata e Nuove tendenze tra Venezia e Zagabria

    No full text

Customer centricity at Allianz: marketing orientation in a service industry

    No full text
The case study’s objective is to provide a description and a deep analysis of the marketing research tools and techniques available to understand in general customers’ value in the service industry (facing the value analysis for the customer issue in order to support strategic marketing decisions) and useful to reach objectives strictly related to the usage of these tools in order to: launch new products/services, testing advertising and products’ concepts analysis. The nature of the case is principally descriptive: it uses Allianz perspective to broadly examine and represent the scope of marketing research tools and techniques. Thanks to the picture drawn on marketing research issue students can learn from and analyze the best practices of Allianz (the first mover in the service industry for what concerns the usage of marketing research tools and techniques). The Allianz case is an example on how, also in the service industry, customer centricity is acquiring constantly an increasing importance. In the past, the industry had a guaranteed customer base which was determined by the need to buy products required by law. In recent years the trend has shifted and evolved: the market became more competitive and customers have become more aware and informe

Preface to the First Workshop on Artificial Intelligence for Human Machine Interaction (AIxHMI)

    No full text
The latest advances in wearable devices and sensing technologies have enriched the potential of human-machine interaction (HMI), enabling the development of new applications especially in real-life environments. Artificial intelligence plays a significant role within new scenarios that suffer from noise, are strongly human-centered and often require severe constraints in terms of computational costs and real-time processing. The main motivations and relevance of the Artificial Intelligence for Human Machine Interaction (AIxHMI) workshop regard (i) translating AI to pervasive technologies based on wearable sensing, (ii) focusing on a human-centric approach/perspective, and (iii) highlighting how AI can extract knowledge from heterogeneous data sources that describe human environmental interaction in real-life scenarios. Eight papers have been submitted to the first edition of AIxHMI. Out of these, five have been accepted for this volume, four as regular papers and one as a short paper. A submission has been accepted as an abstract. Diverse fields of HMI were touched by these authors as well as by the four invited speakers
