Nanoemulsion technology for sublingual delivery of Melatonin : Characterization and Preliminary Data of absorption
Melatonin (5-methoxytryptamine) is a natural occurring molecule which exerts physiologic role of circadian sleep-wake cycle in humans. Melatonin is secreted from the pineal gland placed i the center of the brain, far from blood-brain barrier. Thanks to its ascertained safety in humans and low cost, melatonin is widely employed in the market of drugs and nutritional supplements mainly claiming its effectiveness in sleep-wake cycle regularization, anxiolytic and antioxidant activity. Over the last decades, melatonin bioavailability has been investigated in humans and animal models. Literature data pointed out a limited bioavailability of malatonin after oral intake, together withah high variability from subject to subject

Effective intranasal GCS application strategy of mono and combines forms in treating patients, suffering from allergic rhinitis. Evidence-based medicine to help a practitioner
To summarize effective intranasal glucocorticosteroids (GCS) application strategies in treatment of patients, suffering from allergic rhinitis (depending on disease type), based on actual research results. Current study determines the place of fixed intranasal GCS and topic antihistamine medication combination, specifically azelastine and mometasone furoate, as a first line of choice therapy in treatment of patients, suffering from allergic rhinitis. Effective application of stage therapy allows us establish control over allergic inflammation and significantly decrease pharmaceutical load in cases of patients, suffering from allergic rhinitis. © N.S. Defining a prognostic criterion of orthopaedic complications development in patients with an injury of anterior cruciate ligament of knee joint
Rusanov A, Roy I, Rusanova O. Defining a prognostic criterion of orthopaedic complications development in patients with an injury of anterior cruciate ligament of knee joint. Physiotherapy Quarterly. 2019;27(3):34-38. doi:10.5114/pq.2019.87596.Introduction
Prognostic indices of orthopaedic implications development were investigated among patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries on the basis of stabilography research during the functional period of rehabilitation.
Methods
The study included 52 randomly selected individuals with a complete ACL tear qualified for surgical reconstruction. The patients’ age was 18–59 (average: 37.8 ± 2.0) years. All participants underwent rehabilitation treatment in the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics, National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, and had surgeries in the Institute’s clinics. The crural part of the graft was fixed with the assistance of either the RigidFix system or the Cross-Pin system, and the Biointrafix or Biosure Sync system was applied for the tibial part.
Results and conclusions
On the basis of the performed analysis of indices that characterize the functional condition of the injured limb of patients with an injury of ACL of knee joint at the functional stage of rehabilitation treatment, it is possible to identify a high and medium level of loading asymmetry in the lower extremities, decrease of electrobiological activity and muscle resistance ability during bending, stretching, adduction, and abduction, as the main prognostic criterion of orthopaedic complications development
Exploring the Impact of Contaminants of Emerging Concern on Fish and Invertebrates Physiology in the Mediterranean Sea
In this historical context, the Mediterranean Sea faces an increasing threat from emerging pollutants such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products, heavy metals, pesticides and microplastics, which pose a serious risk to the environment and human health. In this regard, aquatic invertebrates and fish are particularly vulnerable to the toxic effects of these pollutants, and several species have been identified as bio-indicators for their detection. Among these, bivalve molluscs and elasmobranchs are now widely used as bio-indicators to accurately assess the effects of contaminants. The study focuses on the catshark Scyliorhinus canicular and on the Mediterranean mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis. The first one is a useful indicator of localised contamination levels due to its exposure to pollutants that accumulate on the seabed. Moreover, it has a high trophic position and plays an important role in the Mediterranean Sea ecosystem. The bivalve mollusc Mytilus galloprovincialis, on the other hand, being a filter-feeding organism, can acquire and bioaccumulate foreign particles present in its environment. Additionally, because it is also a species of commercial interest, it has a direct impact on human health. In conclusion, the increasing presence of emerging pollutants in the Mediterranean Sea is a serious issue that requires immediate attention. Bivalve molluscs and elasmobranchs are two examples of bio-indicators that must be used to precisely determine the effects of these pollutants on the marine ecosystem and human health

Constructive and destructive role of a symbol as an object of cultural identity in the globalization process
The object of the present study presents problematic processes of globalization and cultural identity. The subject of study is the symbol as an object of cultural identity within the framework of the transformation of value-semantic sphere of the person under the influence of globalization. The author examines such aspect as the problem of "Westernization" of cultural property in Russia, which entails a correlation of values of the individual in accordance with the axiological and symbolic forms that are postulated by modern media. The author pays attention to the fact that in order to preserve the cultural identity and unity of Russian the society should pay attention to the processes of globalization, which have a certain set of templates and stamps, symbolic series and images that manipulate a person at a subconscious level, investing in the ideological structure of human specific patterns of behavior and thinking. The goal of the study is to analyze the symbol as an object of cultural identity in the globalization processes
How does training of the working memory effect the memory performance in young people?
One of the quality indicators of the medical education is a good study performance, which is
very much influenced by the capacity of the working memory. Recent studies have reported that working
memory can be improved by training. In this study, we were looking for association between the training
of the working memory and its performance in healthy students at Kazakh National Medical University.
A total of 676 students participated: 346 in study group and 346 – in control. Reading span test (RST) was
used for working memory training and Dual N-back test was used for measurement of results. According
to the results obtained, one-and-a-half-month RST training of the memory (RAM) statistically significantly
increases the amount of the working memory on average by 12.3 %: min on 9.9 %; max on 15.5 %
(р<0.001). Тhe present study examined the relationship of the working memory training and increase in its
level in healthy young adults. Our findings indirectly confirm that training not only increases the level of
the working memory, but also stimulates other cognitive functions: improving auditory and spatial memory
in parallel to the visual one
