Led and coordinated by Professor Cesare Cundari, a group of more than 30 scholars, of which the writer was a member, worked in the Survey and the Representation of the architectural complex of the Royal Palace of Caserta. The gold plaque recognizes the ability and merit of a group that has operated in a competent way in creating an initiative of great value
Bornologies, selection principles and function spaces
AbstractWe study some closure-type properties of function spaces endowed with the new topology of strong uniform convergence on a bornology introduced by Beer and Levi in 2009. The study of these function spaces was initiated in [G. Beer, S. Levi, Strong uniform continuity, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 350 (2009) 568–589] and [A. Caserta, G. Di Maio, Lʼ. Holá, Arzelàʼs Theorem and strong uniform convergence on bornologies, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 371 (2010) 384–392]. The properties we study are related to selection principles
Siti Reali. La provincia di Caserta nella cinematografia italiana
A paradox marks the cinematographic presence of Caserta and its Province. On the one hand, the famous
Royal Palace, chosen as a set for dozens of Italian and international films from the 1930s to the present day,
is actually a closed place, not linked to the territory and, moreover, used largely to represent and evoke other
spaces of power. On the other hand, in the course of the twentieth century, the presence on the big screen of
the Caserta Province was sporadic. Only at the beginning of the new millennium did this territory become the
privileged setting for stories with a strong realism and aimed at telling facts and episodes largely related to the
crime news. This intervention therefore aims to focus on the film production of the last fifteen years in order
to identify, together with the aspects that characterize it, the places most used and thus offer a critical reading
of the interpretations suggested by the films

Monte Carlo technique in modeling ground motion coherence in sedimentary filled valleys
Using a Monte Carlo method based on a random walk in ad hoc N-dimensional phase space, we construct N random time series having prescribed coherence spatial decay. We apply the method in seismology by designing a numerical experiment to investigate how the coherence of the bedrock motion relates to the coherence of the surface ground motion in a sedimentary valley. The main features of the coherence behavior in the valley are found to tie in with data analysis and field observations.Part of the research activities have been carried out by A. Caserta, for his PhD study, in cooperation with the Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) and in the frame of the projects GACR 205/07/0502 and MSM 0021620860.Published133-1385T. [Reggia di Caserta, at Caserta, Italy]
Image of the facade of the Reggia di Caserta (the Royal Palace of Caserta) taken from the large square in front of the palace, known initially as the Piazza Reale, then renamed Piazza Carlo di Borbone, and currently called Piazza Carlo III. The palace was used by Allied Forces as the Allied Headquarters, during the invasion of Italy, and a United States military truck can be seen on the left side of the photograph, parked in front of the building. According to Shaffer: ''[This is] Caserta [with the] Allied HQ in [the] Palace.'
