Genus Madelinia Alekseev et Pankowski, 2020 Note. The newly described fossil taxon shares the characters of the tribe Hypulini within Melandryinae: procoxae contiguous, pretarsal claws simple, antennae 11-segmented and filiform, base of pronotum closely associated with elytral base, head well visible from above, elytra narrowly ovate, elytral punctuation irregular, lateral edges of pronotum not fully margined, penultimate tarsomere of all legs bilobed etc. The studied amber specimen is assigned to Madelinia as it shares a set of characters diagnostic for this genus: scutellar shield visible, pronotal base distinctly margined, pronotum with distinct basal triangular depressions, pronotal base slightly narrower than elytral base, pronotum laterally margined in basal one-third, elytra uniformly dark colored, and metatarsomere 1 not shorter than one-half of metatibia.Published as part of Alekseev, Vitalii Igorevich & Bukejs, Andris, 2021, Fossil Melandryidae (Coleoptera: Tenebrionoidea) from Eocene Baltic amber of the Sambian peninsula: new genus, six new species, new records and key to described taxa, pp. 142-166 in Zootaxa 4965 (1) on page 151, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4965.1.7, http://zenodo.org/record/472323

Madelinia gedanoposita Alekseev et Pankowski, 2020 Material examined. One specimen with collection number MMO 1/22 4730/253 [MWO]; Baltic amber, adult, male, complete specimen with exposed distal part of genitalia and metathoracic wings; specimen partially obscured by layered structure of the amber and milky opacity (forebody). Body length of the specimen is 3.3 mm. The beetle inclusion is preserved in a small-sized, yellow, polished piece of transparent amber with dimensions of 10×6× 5 mm without supplementary fixation. Syninclusions are absent. Note. The holotype length is 5.8 mm. The second known exemplar of the extinct Madelinia gedanoposita is distinctly smaller than holotype. The size difference between specimens is considered as intraspecific variation of a single species, such size range is normal situation among the related extant beetles.Published as part of Alekseev, Vitalii Igorevich & Bukejs, Andris, 2021, Fossil Melandryidae (Coleoptera: Tenebrionoidea) from Eocene Baltic amber of the Sambian peninsula: new genus, six new species, new records and key to described taxa, pp. 142-166 in Zootaxa 4965 (1) on pages 161-162, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4965.1.7, http://zenodo.org/record/472323
