    Droplet-Microscopy of the Protozoa

The world of the protozoa is one that is still not wholly understood, and certainly not by the average person. Of course one thing that can be immediately appreciated is the many interesting nuances amongst their number (something that is not lost on the creator of this site, one Piotr Rotkiewicz, who holds a PhD in chemistry). The site itself contains 184 pictures (drawn from 84 genera) of various protozoa, ranging from the well-known paramecium to the marine spiroloculina. All of the images have been taken by a number of different microscopes, and visitors to the site are also provided with some detailed information about these devices. The site has a nice collage that brings together images of protozoa from 45 different genera that gives users some sense of the relative size of each organism. The site is rounded out by an extensive set of outside links to other relevant websites, and a list of suggested readings

summary:We use the properties of pp-adic integrals and measures to obtain general congruences for Genocchi numbers and polynomials and tangent coefficients. These congruences are analogues of the usual Kummer congruences for Bernoulli numbers, generalize known congruences for Genocchi numbers, and provide new congruences systems for Genocchi polynomials and tangent coefficients

This article analyses and presents the complementary assessment in a tax proceeding regulated in the art. 230 the Act of 29 August 1997. The established solution raised great interest in literature and judicial decisions of the administrative courts. The legislator decided that the administrativereview authority was obliged to remand the case to the first-instance tax authority in order to amend the issued administrative decision if the tax liability or a taxable base was determined or specified in an amount lower than that proceeding from provisions on tax law. The first-instance tax authority issued a new administrative decision in accordance with the legal state in force on the day tax liability arose. The author notices that the mentioned regulation made the legal position of parties worse, due to the fact that the first-instance authority could have issued a new administrative decision detrimental to the party petitioning for review. However it must be noted that the institution of the complementary assessment was revoked in 2013. It means that the party’s situation can’t be worsened unless the appealed administrative decision grossly breaches law or the public interest

summary:Let dd be a fixed positive integer. A Lucas dd-pseudoprime is a Lucas pseudoprime NN for which there exists a Lucas sequence U(P,Q)U(P,Q) such that the rank of NN in U(P,Q)U(P,Q) is exactly (Nε(N))/d(N - \varepsilon (N))/d, where ε\varepsilon is the signature of U(P,Q)U(P,Q). We prove here that all but a finite number of Lucas dd-pseudoprimes are square free. We also prove that all but a finite number of Lucas dd-pseudoprimes are Carmichael-Lucas numbers

Master of Science in electrical engineering, a prominent designer of military and civilian radio equipment, since 1928, lecturer and author of fundamental textbooks about radio engineering, a professor at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology and at the Warsaw University of Technology, an outstanding scholar and participant in the resistance movement in Yugoslavia during the Second World War. He studied at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology (1924-1929). Before the WW2 he worked at the same time as a constructor for the army and as the Assistant Professor in the Cathedral of Radio Engineering at WUT. He constructed a popular crystal radio receiver "Detefon", which had been produced in the number of over 500 thousand pieces till 1939. During the war in Yugoslavia fought against the Germans in guerrilla organization of Marshal Josip Broz Tito as a communications engineer. After the war, he returned to Poland (1945). He launched the National Radio Receivers Factory in Dzierżoniów. He organized: School of Radio Engineering in Dzierżoniów (1946), manufacturing of the popular superheterodyne receiver "Pionier" (1948) and started giving lectures at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (1948). He published the famous "Technique of Radio Receiving" in two volumes, created the Wroclaw school of radio engineering. He moved to Warsaw (1964), and he taught at the Faculty of Electronics at WUT.Mgr inż. elektryk, wybitny konstruktor radiowego sprzętu wojskowego i cywilnego od 1928 r. wykładowca i autor fundamentalnych podręczników radiotechniki, profesor politechnik Wrocławskiej i Warszawskiej, wybitny uczony i uczestnik ruchu oporu w Jugosławii w czasie drugiej wojny światowej, działacz SEP. Elektroniki PW
