Alternativas de integración para la Argentina: Un análisis de equilibrio general

    No full text
Argentina has an ambitious trade negotiations agenda for the coming years, both at the multilateral level (WTO) and the regional level (FTAA, MERCOSUR-EU, etc.). In this paper an initial assessment is made of the economic impact of the concessions (on the part of Argentina and of the future partners) involved in such agreements. For this purpose, a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model is used, which reflects the interrelations between all economic sectors and identifies the winners and losers after trade liberalization. The model used was developed at the Foreign Ministry's International Economy Centre (CEI), based on the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) model. In the CEI version, the model adds nonstandard features, such as growing returns to scale in the manufacturing sectors, capital accumulation in the medium term and a positive relationship between trade openness and the productivity of the factors involved. In order to make the model operational (calibration), the latest GTAP database version is used. With a deliberate focus on the negotiations agenda of Argentina, five trade integration scenarios were simulated: (i) Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), (ii) A free trade agreement between the countries of MERCOSUR and the European Union, iii) A combination of (i) and (ii) above, (iv) A free trade agreement between the countries of MERCOSUR and the United States (4 + 1) and v) Free world trade. In general terms, these agreements are simulated by setting bilateral tariff rates at zero. Accordingly, the simulated scenarios are the upper limit of the results that could be obtained from the simulated trade liberalization agreements. The simulations use a GTAP data base aggregation of sixteen sectors and ten regions. This enables the detection of the main aggregate, sectorial effects and the trade patterns of the trade integration scenarios

Disposizione all'ottimismo e prestazione sportiva: uno studio condotto su nuotatori master/Disposition to optimism and sport performance: A study on master swimmers

Aim of the research is to investigate on the relationship between optimism and fifty four swimmers at " master level"; 28 men and 26 women, aged from 22 to 55 years, participated at the research. Subjects were asked to answer to the Attributional Style Questionnaire (ASQ, Peterson et al. 1991)and to revised version of the About one month later, at the end of one of the usual timekeeping test provided for the training program, the coach gave to each of the participants a false feed back about the results of the test, making him/her believe to have obtained an excessively higher time in front of his potential and asking him/her to repeat the test. An index of the differences between the two performances has been calculated and has been utilised as independent variable within a multiple regression which considered the scores of ASQ and LOT-R as predictors. The results show that both these predictors contribute significantly to determine the forecast

Vilcunia periglacialis Cei & Scolaro, 1982 (Reptilia: Lacertilia: Iguania): proposed conservation of the specific name. Case 3219

The conservation of the specific name Liolaemus (Vilcunia) periglacialis is proposed, over Liolaemus hatcheri. The previous nomination was Vilcunia periglacialis but recently with the redescription of Liolaemus hatcheri this name was proposed as precedence in relation to the conspecific taxon L.periglacialis(Cei & Scolaro 1982) described many decades later. However, Scolaro & Cei claimed that the original description of L. hatcheri was based in a series of Liolaemus individuals belonging to three different species (L. hatcheri, L. lineomaculatus and L. kingii), with limited or no details on the collection locality. Also, the name periglacialis has largely been used in many herpetological studies, in contrast to the name hatcheri, cited in only a few works.Teherefore, the name periglacialis (commonly under the genus Vilcunia Donoso-Barros & Cei 1971) was not only based in an official type series with exact details on the type locality, but also has been widely used in several publications.Fil: Scolaro, Jose Alejandro. The purpose of this application under Articles 23.9.3. and 81.2.3. of the Code, is to conserve the widely used specific name Vilcunia periglacialis Cei & Scolaro 1982, for a patagonian tropidurine lizard by giving it conditional precedence over the largely unused senior subjective synonym Liolaemus hatcheri Stejneger 1909.Fil: Scolaro, Jose Alejandro.
