No full textInternational audienceThe epistolary corpus of Londiniensis Harleianus 5566: Letters of Brutus, Theophylact Simocatta and AlciphronThis article focuses on ancient Greek epistolography and, more specifically, on the Letters of Brutus, the Letters of Theophylact Simocatta and the Letters of Alciphron. At the crossroads of codicology and philology, it aims to show how a detailed examination of the manuscript preserved in the British Library, Harley 5566, makes it possible to bring forward new elements of the transmission of these three letter collections in general, and that of the Letters of Alciphron in particular. This article clarifies the number and order of the Letters of Brutus in Harleianus 5566, and their manuscript source; it identifies a new witness to the Letters of Theophylact Simocatta, and its place within the tradition; finally, by establishing that Harleianus 5566 is copied from Parisinus suppl. gr. 352, it invites us to rethink the stemma of the Letters of Alciphron.Le corpus épistolaire du Londiniensis Harleianus 5566 : Lettres de Brutus, de Théophylacte Simocatta et d’AlciphronCet article porte sur l’épistolographie grecque antique et, plus précisément, sur la tradition manuscrite des Lettres de Brutus, des Lettres de Théophylacte Simocatta et des Lettres d’Alciphron.
