    The purpose of this research is to identify the problem-solving profile of junior high school students as they solve PISA problems with a quantity content. The type of this Research is descriptive research with qualitative approach. There were two students in this research as subject, both having high and medium ability levels. Data were collected by test and interview methods. Problem solving in this research refers to Polya's problem solving steps. The results of the research show: (1) At the step of understanding the problem, students with high and medium ability levels can identify things that are known and asked at the given problem; (2) At the step of devising a problem-solving plan, students with high and medium ability levels can explain the problem-solving plan and relate it to what is known and asked about the problem so that it leads to problem solving; (3) At the step of carrying out  the problem-solving plan, students with high and medium ability levels can write down the steps of completion based on the solution plan that has been made and obtain the final result; (4) At the step of looking back  the process and results of problem solving, students with high and medium ability levels can adjust the answers obtained with the questions asked in the problem and can make conclusions at the end of solving the problem

    This research aims to obtain students' mathematical communication profile in solving story problems of three-variable linear equation system. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of 3 students each with high, medium and low abilities. Data were collected using 2 techniques, namely written task and interviews. Indicators of mathematical communication in this research use indicators of mathematical communication according to NCTM. The results showed:  (1) in indicator of expressing mathematical ideas through writing and spoken, MRH and NNP subjects wrote and explained the example and how to form a linear equation of three variables. While HFK only explained the example. HFK also wrote and explained how to form a linear equation of three variables; (2) in indicator of understanding, interpreting, and evaluating mathematical ideas in writing and spoken, MRH and NNP subjects wrote and explained the steps of solving the problem correctly, while HFK was incomplete in writing and explaining it. MRH and NNP wrote and mentioned the conclusion according to what was asked in the problem, while HFK did not write or mention it; (3) In indicator of using mathematical terms, symbols and structures to model mathematical situations or problems, MRH, NNP and HFK used mathematical symbols and structures in writing example, equations and problem solving steps

    PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TEAM GAMES TOURNAMENT BERBANTUAN QUIZIZZ UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJARN SISWA PADA MATERI BILANGAN BERPANGKAT DI KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 21 PALU

    This study aims to describe the application of the Team Games Tournament type cooperative learning model assisted by quizizz in improving student learning outcomes on the material of rank numbers in class VIII SMP Negeri 21 Palu. The subjects in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 21 Palu. The research instruments used consisted of observation sheets, test questions and interviews. The results showed that the Team Games Tournament type cooperative learning model assisted by quizizz could improve student learning outcomes on the material of power numbers in class VIII SMP Negeri 21 Palu, by following the steps of the Team Games Tournament type cooperative learning model, namely: (1) class presentation, (2) learning in groups, (3) games, (4) tournament, and (5) team recognition. The results of the end-of-action test showed that in cycle I it was seen that students were still difficult in solving the problems given so that there were some students who could not solve the problem and there were students who still had difficulty in determining negative power numbers. Whereas in cycle II students had a better understanding of how to work on power numbers in determining the properties of power numbers. Based on the percentage of Classical Learning Completeness (KBK) in cycle I, it shows that students have difficulty in solving negative power number problems. This can be seen from the number of students who completed, namely out of 22 students who took the final test, there were only 14 students who got a complete score or got a score that reached the KKM of 75, so the percentage in cycle I only reached 63.63%. Whereas in cycle II shows that of the 17 students who took the final test, 16 students obtained a complete score or reached the KKM which is 75, so the percentage results in cycle II reached 93.11%. In addition, the results of observations of teacher activities in managing learning and student activities in participating in learning show an increase in each cycle. Based on the data from the research results, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of Team Games Tournament type assisted by quizizz can improve student learning outcomes on rank number material in class VIII SMP Negeri 21 Palu

    This study aims to obtain a description of the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of 8th grade students of Raden Saleh SMP Negeri Madani Palu Integrated Model on the material of the Two-Variable Linear Equation System. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study consisted of 2 people, where 1 student with high math ability, and 1 student with low math ability. Data collection techniques are using tests and interviews.  Data analysis uses 3 stages, namely, data reduction, data exposure, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that (1) Analysis of concept understanding of high mathematics ability subjects on the indicator of restating a concept, able to explain the meaning of the system of linear equations of two variables using their own language but, incomplete; on the indicator of classifying objects according to certain properties in accordance with the concept, able to classify examples and not examples of SPLDV; on the indicator of using and utilizing and selecting certain procedures or operations in solving problems, able to solve problems using existing procedures. (2) Analysis of concept understanding of low mathematics ability subjects on the indicator of restating a concept, able to restate a concept of a system of linear equations of two variables by looking at answers on the internet; on the indicator of classifying objects according to certain properties in accordance with the concept, not yet able to classify examples and not examples of SPLDV; on the indicator of utilizing and selecting certain procedures or operations, unable to solve the problem given

    This study was conducted to determine the influence of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on student learning outcomes in the Geometry Transformation material in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Tinombo. This type of research is a Quasi-experimental study with a Posttest-only control group design. The population in this study were all students of XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Tinombo totaling 114 students. The sampling technique used was the random sampling technique. The sample in this study was class XI MIPA 4 as the experimental class with 28 students and students of XI MIPA 2 as the control class with 29 students. Testing of research data using one-sided t-test statistical analysis with prerequisite tests, namely normality and homogeneity tests. The results of data analysis obtained in the experimental 79.14 and the control class was 61.56, The results of the calculation of the chi-square normality test data for the experimental class obtained = 4.761  and  = 7.81472 and for the control class obtained = 3.478 and  = 7.81472. And for the hypothesis value obtained  and . With a significance level of α = 5% = 0.05. The results show that Ho is rejected and  is accepted, so it can be concluded that the Contextual Teach and Learn (CTL) learning model has a better effect than the direct learning model on student learning outcomes in geometric transformation material.

    This research is classroom action research (PTK). The PTK model used is the Kemmis-Mc Taggart spiral model which aims to describe the improvement in student learning outcomes in class VII Budi Pekerti through the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) approach to integer material. This research was carried out with participants in this research totaling 36 students in class VII Budi Pekerti SMP Negeri 6 Palu, consisting of 20 male students and 16 female students. The data was analyzed descriptively and presented in graphical form. This research was taken based on 3 data on improving learning outcomes, namely starting from pre-cycle, cycle 1, and cycle 2 with a standard of completeness, namely N> 75. Obtained a percentage of completeness sequentially, Pre-cycle 22% with an average value of 50, cycle 1 55% with the average value is 70 and cycle 2 is 88% with an average value of 85. Based on the results of research that has been carried out on learning mathematics in integer material using the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) can improve student learning outcomes

    This study aims to obtain a description of students' mathematical representation in solving problems of two-variable linear equation systems in grade IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Sigi based on gender differences. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 2 students, including male and female students with moderate mathematical abilities. The results of this study indicate that (1) In the visual representation indicator, male students can already represent problems in the form of tables, but have not been able to make solution graphs, while female students cannot represent the problems given in the form of pictures/graphs to solve problems. (2) In the verbal representation indicator, male students have errors in writing several words, while female students have deficiencies in making efficient sentences, but can explore the answers further during the interview. (3) In the symbol representation indicator, male students can represent the given problem into a mathematical expression to find the right solution, while female students cannot solve the problem completely.

    This research aims to obtain a description of the profile of solving HOTS questions on prism volume material by class VIII students at SMPN 2 Kasimbar based on Polya's steps. This type of research is qualitative research. The subject in this study consisted of one student with high mathematical ability (DA) who was selected from the results of a grouping based on his mathematical ability, then the subject was willing and able to communicate well and was recommended by the mathematics teacher at the school. The results of the research show that the HOTS problem solving profile of high ability (DA) students in solving HOTS volume prism problems is: 1) at the stage of understanding the problem, the DA subject writes down what is known and is asked in the question based on the information he obtained in the question, 2) makes a plan , the DA subject prepares a plan by linking the knowledge he has and the information he obtains to the problem, so that the DA subject prepares a solution plan correctly. 3) carry out the plan, the DA subject carries out the solution plan according to the plan and uses his numeracy skills to get the correct answer. 4) at the stage of re-checking the answer, the DA subject re-checks the answer by carrying out proof and also making a conclusion at the end of the proof. So that DA meets the four indicators that have been presented

    This study aims to describe students’ mathematical communication skills in solving problems related to angle relationships, taking into account gender differences among students of SMP Negeri 1 Sindue Tobata. This research employed a qualitative approach with two eighth-grade students as subjects, consisting of one male and one female student, both identified as high-ability learners. Data were collected through tests and interviews. The results revealed that the male student demonstrated mathematical communication skills in understanding mathematical ideas both orally and in writing, using mathematical terms and notations, interpreting mathematical ideas through graphs and symbols, and evaluating ideas orally, although his written evaluations were still lacking. In contrast, the female student exhibited better skills in evaluating mathematical ideas both orally and in writing. These findings provide insights into the differences in mathematical communication skills between high-ability male and female students within the context of mathematics learning
