Study of multiple layers coatings for X–ray mirrors
No full textThis paper focuses on a theoretical background that motivated
the experimental campaign of multiple layer coatings of X-ray mirrors, and
the first results of the testing of the prepared samples. Simulations of the use
of different overcoats were performed in order to improve the reflectivity of
thin iridium coatings designed for X-ray optics effective in the energy up to
10 keV. Samples based on these simulations were prepared and are being tested
for the properties that influence the X-ray optical performance, such as layer
homogeneity, density and surface micro-roughness. Further the topic of the
coating stress was addressed, as it is an issue in case of thin, lightweight X-ray
mirrors and affects the time stability of layers. The discussion and preliminary
results conclude our contribution

No full textWe report on a study of the mechanical properties of hybrid-additive manufactured Inconel 718 double-periodic lattice structures. For this, a hybrid approach, combining Laser Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB/M) and in-situ high-speed milling, is employed. Within this technique, the PBF-LB/M process is interrupted after several layers, as the milling process starts, enabling a machining of inlaying structures

No full textDie europäischen Regeln zur Begrenzung der Staatsverschuldung haben sich nicht bewährt. Das Regelwerk ist zu komplex, die Überwachung und Durchsetzung unterliegt politischen Einflussnahmen und eine wirkungsvolle Sanktionierung findet nicht statt. Wir analysieren vor diesem Hintergrund die generelle Effektivität fiskalischer Regeln. Dafür werten wir zunächst die Literatur zu diesem Thema aus. Daran anschließend stellen wir die Chronologie der Fiskalregeln in der EU seit Ende der 1980er Jahre dar und gehen dabei auch auf die jüngste Reform des Stabilitäts- und Wachstumspaktes ein. Nach diesen Ausführungen leiten wir eine einfache Regel in Übereinstimmung mit dem AEUV her, die dann für Simulationsrechnungen generell und mit den aktuellen Regelungen verwendet wird. Diese Regel setzt am Kernproblem der zu hohen Staatsverschuldung an, ist dem politischen Bewertungsprozess weitgehend entzogen, bewahrt die fiskalische Souveränität der Mitgliedsländer und ist transparent und kontrollierbar. Sie ist flexibel und prinzipiell in der Lage, übermäßig hohe Schuldenquoten innerhalb eines überschaubaren Zeitraums abzubauen

No full textDer Klimawandel erfordert auf kommunaler Ebene nicht nur Information, sondern aktive Beteiligung der Bevölkerung an Anpassungsmaßnahmen. Zentrale Akteure der Kommunikation sind Kommunen, klassische und digitale Medien sowie lokale Organisationen und gesellschaftlich engagierte Personen, die Informationen bereitstellen, Einstellungen prägen und Beteiligung fördern. Der Beitrag identifiziert auf Basis psychologischer und kommunikationswissenschaftlicher Modelle Erfolgsfaktoren wirksamer Klimaanpassungskommunikation. Im Fokus stehen kognitive und emotionale Wirkmechanismen sowie die strategische Zielgruppensegmentierung entlang der Diffusionstheorie und Customer Journey. Eine Befragung im Main-Kinzig-Kreis zeigt: Klimaanpassung wird als notwendig erkannt, ist aber emotional negativ konnotiert. Wirksame Kommunikation erfordert glaubwürdige Multiplikatoren sowie eine zielgruppenspezifische Ansprache, die verständlich, sachlich und motivierend gestaltet ist

Microstructural Fracture Behaviour of PBF-LB/M Inconel 718 Components within different HIP Processes
No full textWe report on a study of different hot isostatic pressing (HIP) cycles, improving the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Inconel 718 components. For this, PBF-LB/M built components are post-processed by different HIP sequences, as gas pressure and processing time are varied, leading to differences in microstructure and material characteristics. Static and dynamic mechanical testing are performed, evaluating the changes in mechanical properties with particular focus on the ultimate tensile strength and endurance limit. Furthermore, metallographic analysis is employed to investigate the achieved density and microhardness. Microstructural analysis, showing the grain boundaries, is used to identify generated phases and precipitations of the material matrix. Moreover, the fracture behaviour is classified by grain deformation during mechanical testing. As the HIP leads to microstructural changes of Inconel 718 components, mechanical properties can be improved significantly, enhancing the ultimate tensile strength and simultaneously the endurance limit
Green Wave as an Integral Part for the Optimization of Traffic Efficiency and Safety: A Survey
No full textGreen Wave provides practical and advanced solutions to improve traffic efficiency and safety through network coordination. Nevertheless, the complete potential of Green Wave systems has yet to be explored. Utilizing emerging technologies and advanced algorithms, such as AI or V2X, would aid in achieving more robust traffic management strategies, especially when integrated with Green Wave. This work comprehensively surveys existing traffic control strategies that enable Green Waves and analyzes their impact on future traffic management systems and urban infrastructure. Understanding previous research on traffic management and its effect on traffic efficiency and safety helps explore the integration of Green Wave solutions with smart city initiatives for effective traffic signal coordination. This paper also discusses the advantages of using Green Wave strategies for emission reduction and considers road safety issues for vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists. Finally, the existing challenges and research gaps in building robust and successful Green Wave systems are discussed to articulate explicitly the future requirement of sustainable urban transport
