Body, as a medium, has been carrying multiple artefacts on its surface ever since its very existence. Despite the emergence of various forms of media that open new possibilities to decipher meanings associated to a text, body has a significant role in being an open medium to imprint messages and actively participate in conferring meanings to the world. Body is not just a matter and substance, but a medium that generates and carries messages; a vehicle to transport information. Tattooing the body to permanently deploy the messages on its surface as an act of marking identity, social status, cultural symbol is a practice since civilization. The reappearance and penetration of the historically stigmatised tattooed bodies into the mainstream from the last quarter of the 20th century reminds to recognize body as a valuable and a preferred medium to communicate a message. This study examines the cultural evolution of Ayurvedic medicine consumption in Kerala, a globally recognized hub for Ayurveda, exploring how digital platforms have transformed its accessibility, marketing, and perception while merging local traditions with global health trends. Using an interdisciplinary approach that integrates ethnographic studies, digital analytics, and consumer behavior analysis, the research reveals a dual impact of technology: fostering the global commodification of Ayurveda while simultaneously raising concerns about the erosion of its traditional essence. The findings highlight the critical role of online health influencers, e-commerce platforms, and wellness apps in reshaping Ayurvedic practices, especially among urban and diaspora communities. Additionally, the study delves into the interaction between Kerala\u27s socio-cultural identity, the tourism-driven commodification of Ayurveda, and the consumer narrative shaped by digitization. It emphasizes the importance of policy measures to balance cultural preservation with innovation, ensuring the authenticity and accessibility of Ayurveda in a rapidly digitalizing world. By bridging tradition and modernity, this research provides valuable insights for healthcare stakeholders, policymakers, and digital entrepreneurs

This study comprehensively analyses reservation issues pertinent to faculty appointments in higher secondary institutions, Manipur University, and the Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS). At Manipur University, the study focused on the admission issues of Scheduled Tribes in 2016. RIMS received a specific focus, where the research examines the composition of the teaching staff, the overall teaching staff strength, and the underrepresentation of Scheduled Tribe (ST) teaching staff, which is not by the reservation policy. In the context of higher secondary schools, the study investigates the appointment of lecturers on a contract basis from 2014 to 2018, encompassing all categories and the shortfall in ST appointments relative to the reservation policy. Furthermore, the research explores the social class dynamics prevalent in Manipur, analyzing the distribution of higher education teachers among the Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC), and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The study also delves into the appointment issues surrounding assistant professors, enrollment patterns, and admission trends related to the reservation policy. Notably, the research provides valuable insights into the trends and patterns of ST representation in higher educational institutions in Manipur, focusing on ST enrollment trends from 2011 to 2019 and the ST gross enrollment ratio during the same period. Lastly, the study critically examines the shortage of ST faculty members, attributing this shortfall to the Government of Manipur\u27s failure to adhere to reservation rules and provisions, which mandate a 31% reservation for tribal people. This finding highlights the need to effectively implement reservation policies to promote inclusive education and representation in Manipur\u27s higher education landscape

The first four decades of development strategy in India was characterized by the heavy regulation of the economy by the government. It was believed that the private sector in the economy either did not have the resources or the capacity and will to take on the big development projects needed to initiate development in a stagnant economy in the 1950s. However, by the late 1980s it was realized that the policies were not working and like many other countries India too switched gears from a Planned economic model to a one based on the primacy of the Markets and the private sector. The government, since the 8th Five Year Plan to the 12th Five Year Plan moved from a heavy-handed economic planning to an Indicative Planning. The centrality of the growth process is now well established in the development literature and the policy circles. Economic growth is now considered to be the primary driver of the development process with the state playing a redefined in the economy since the 1990s. The current development strategy combines a fine balance between the state and the market
