Psychoeducation Practice by Class teacher and School counselor —Stress management education using pictures and fictional story—
The aim of this study is to review and examine the significance and problem of the psychoeducation practice by teachers and school counselor.
Research subjects are 61 second grade students in public junior high school, where the present writer worked at once a week. Psychoeducation class were held within integrated study period; by class teacher, school nurse, and school counselor. The counselor explained how stress works, and how to cope with it using “pictures” and “fictional stories”, and some quiz. Then, the counselor explained breathing exercise as one of the way to make yourself relax; the class teacher cooperated as the model. At the end of the class, students were asked to write free descriptive impression of the program. The descriptive impression were analyzed and categorized following KJ-method.
Descriptive impression of the class by students were categorized into 5 categories: affinity for the program, achievement of new knowledge, change of perspective, awaken interest towards inner world, and sprouting of self-exploration. Using pictures and fictional story to explain stress seems to contribute to reduce anxiety confronting stressful experience.departmental bulletin pape
Tactile Sensation and Beauty —A Phenomenological Study on Self Awareness—
In my last research paper, it was found that tactile experience is indispensable for the acquisition of the concept of the self. This suggests that tactile sensation might be the most fundamental sense among the five senses. Experiments ranking the superiority of the five senses support the idea that tactile sensation is the most superior. Tactile sensation is not just one of the five senses on par with the other four, but it holds an exceptional position as the most fundamental among them. Tactile sensation is the most basic sense supporting the survival of living organisms. When humans map their bodies and the environment around them, the information obtained from tactile sensation forms the foundation. It is also fundamental for the mental state of humans and child development.
Now, let’s consider the most fundamental sense of the beauty act. Makeup and hairstyling are important for their shapes, so it seems that vision is the most important sense. However, both makeup and hairstyling inevitably involve touching the skin and hair and adjusting the finish based on the tactile sensation. Therefore, tactile sensation is also an indispensable and important sense. In skincare, body care, bathing, and similar care actions, tactile sensation is the predominant sense. Additionally, in the early history of beauty, it was closely intertwined with medicine. The persistent belief that “healing hands” is the origin of medicine indicates that tactile sensation is the primary sense in early medical and beauty practices. From these points, it can be said that tactile sensation is the most fundamental sense of beauty.
From a phenomenological perspective, the self is a concept, not an entity. Therefore, the self is always fluctuating and fragile. We feel uneasy if they are not constantly aware of, correcting, updating, and controlling the state of our self. One way to confirm and control the self is through beauty. The fact that tactile sensation is the most fundamental sense of beauty aligns with the conclusion of my last research paper that tactile experience is indispensable for the acquisition of the self. For humanity, beauty using tactile stimulation is an extremely effective means of acquiring and forming the self. This reveals that beauty is not merely a superficial and trivial act of decorating one’s appearance, but its significance is profound.departmental bulletin pape
Process of the new coronavirus infectious disease pandemic, break and social issue
departmental bulletin pape
Transformative learning among Japanese university students studying abroad
departmental bulletin pape
Trends in the Occurrence of Culinary Names in Nursery School Meals and Their Characteristics
In classes involving menu planning in registered dietitian training schools,
menu naming is an important factor along with menu creation skills. However,
there is little literature describing the naming of menu. Therefore, we conducted an analysis of the words that make up the names of the dishes in the September nursery school lunch facilities listed on the Internet.
In this survey, The names of the dishes were classified as Pattern 1(Ingredient name + Conditioning method / Finished product), Pattern 2(Ingredient name +An epithet+ Conditioning method / Finished product), Pattern 3(An epithet+ Conditioning method / Finished product), Pattern 4(Ingredient name + Conditioning method / Finished product+Postscript), Pattern 5(Ingredient name), and Pattern 6(Conditioning method /
Finished product).
Pattern 1 was the most common pattern that appeared (63.2%). The composition of the ingredients name, the cooking method or the finished product, and the necessary information for the menu was described with a minimum of information, which was the most used representation of the food name in the nursery school lunch program. In addition, the menu names that appeared were devised in various ways by each facility to convey culinary information more accurately in short characters.departmental bulletin pape
On the Expression Nanchatte Used by Middle-aged Men and the Japanese Teen Slang Word Pien
This paper explores the linguistic characteristics of the Japanese expression nanchatte, which is often used by Japanese middle-aged men, and the Japanese teen slang word pien, both of which are employed in computer-mediated communication. Nanchatte is an instance in “ojisankoubun,” a writing style used by middle-aged men, and its fundamental function is to modify a statement prior to the expression, for example: Ojisan-to deeto shichau Nanchatte “Shall we go on a date Just kidding .” Pien is an onomatopoeia representing the crying act and has been widely used since around 2019 primarily by female Japanese teenagers, for example: Kounyu kara 5 nen-no macbook-de-wa supekku-ga oitsuka-nai pien. “This macbook has insufficient performance, because it has been five years since I purchased it. Phew.”
It is of interest to note that these two expressions have some grammatical similarities in common from the viewpoint of discourse and pragmatics, though they have distinct linguistic properties, as one might empirically predict. In particular, I would like to claim that (i) while they share the same property in their discourse structure, they have distinct characteristics in their discourse function, and (ii) they share the same pragmatic function, but have different features in their pragmatic effect.departmental bulletin pape
